My cousin and I came to this pub for a bite to eat after the Unilocal fashion show at the Alfie Bird. We ordered a few starters as we weren’t that hungry. We had the veg kebabs and a bhel puri type of dish. We enjoyed the pani puri also. It was all very tasty. We weren’t too keen on the apple pie as it was tangy and there wasn’t enough custard. Nice décor and atmosphere.

We went to the restaurant here as there was a Groupon voucher for two 3 course meals for £22(I think) which seemed like good value after checking the menu out online. I wasn’t sure what to expect with a supposedly nice restaurant joined onto a pub which does a wide variety of food(I’ve seen it go badly at other establishments), but I must say this place is amazing. The restaurant section itself is separated from the main bar area by glass partitions, and has great décor. The staff are friendly and attentive, yet not annoying, and the food is superb! I had the lightly battered prawns to start, followed by the Cajun salmon on a bed of new potatoes with sour cream and caviar, followed by apple crumble with ice cream. The prawns were large with very light but crispy batter with a spicy salsa dip, cooked to perfection. The salmon was nicely blackened on the bottom, and extremely tender but properly cooked. I wasn’t sure how the caviar and sour cream would compliment this, but it worked very well. The desert was even better though! Caramelised apples with a nice cinnamon flavour throughout with a perfect crunchy crumble topping and a scoop of delicious vanilla ice cream on the side. I think the meal should have come to about £54 without the voucher, and I wouldn’t have been disappointed to pay full price. Will definitely be coming back here again!

This bar is without doubt the most trendy and classy bar in Hall Green. Once a common mans pub years ago, this bar has had around half a million pounds spent refurbishing it to the high quality calibre it is today. The bar has a restaurant area with a fine Indian cuisine menu. The ambience is very relaxed, lighting is dim and music is subtle, playing a mix of lounge/chill music and classics — an almost sensual feeling to this place. Towards the back of the pub is further leather sofas, a roaring fire and bar area. Door security always on Friday and Saturday evenings. There is a function hall to the rear of the pub car park for weddings and parties. Prices are on par with most pubs in Moseley village. Premium beers on draught including cobra, Estrella Damm and Peroni. The large bar houses an extensive selection of wines and spirits and cocktails available. I recommend a visit here. The perfect place to socialize or have a meal with friends or family, day or evening.

Location perfect, food perfect, service perfect. I’ve been here a few times and the place is very pleasant and chilled out. One of my regular haunts at the moment.

This place is OK, I can see what they are trying to do and where they want this pub to be but it just ain’t happening. It looks like a classy pub in Hall Green, the restaurant looks the business and the drink prices are slightly high but they do have some awesome drinks available. However, this pub is not attracting the classy people and doesn’t really feel safe if your away from the bar side.

This is probably one of the best pubs in Hall Green. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s amazing but less than £10 you can get fed and have a couple of drinks, what more could you want? My friend lived there for a few months and I think we must have ended up in here nearly every Sunday afternoon during that time. I love nothing more than going to a pub to relax after a hard weeks work(and even harder partying on a Saturday night!). It offers a great selection of food and drink and is very much a family friendly venue.

Hall Green is limited in bars and pubs that offer good food, music and a classy place to socialise with friends. This is why Horseshoe is so popular. It offers all of the above with outdoor seating, ample parking and a vast bar. The restaurant area is separate to the bar, which I appreciate so you can enjoy a meal with the family or in private without the interference of punters. The food is freshly prepared and finger-licking good. The dance area is to one end of the pub, so you can avoid the noise if you just fancy a quiet catch-up with friends. The staff is generally witty and sociable. The owner tends to mingle and make himself known, although I find him eager to expose his own achievements than learn more about his customers. There is also an impressive function room, which has been converted from the old Wacky Warehouse, where in-house catering is provided.

A recently renovated pub judging by its very modern, crisp and leather furniture laden interior. I’ve got to say it’s not the kind of pub I seek out. The atmosphere is quite overbearing, full of boisterous men getting ridiculously drunk talking about strategies that will enable them to make ‘loadsa-money’ or/and get ‘loadsa-women’. But I suppose this is just pub-talk. I had a few drinks and caught up with friends. I wouldn’t choose to go to this place if it wasn’t for its geographical convenience. Pretty ordinary — serves drinks, has seats, toilets, lots of drunk people and not a great deal more. Not the best, yet not the worst pub I’ve been to.

Tried The Horseshoe for lunch, clean ‘pub style’ place with friendly staff and quick service. I had the ploughman’s which was hot with chips, also had a coffee. Just over £6.00 good all round value however the coffee was tiny and at £2.50 made up a large chunk of the bill. Despite this an excellent place for lunch.
