As takeaways edge nearer to the city centre, the name of the game is less about quality than competitive prices — and there are plenty of venues further back in central Erdington which offer a bang for the buck. It’s a good job, then, that Prego sets out its stall by offering a whopping 16″ pizza pie for just a smidge under £7. It is not unknown for crazy discount offers to be made available either — including a rub-your-eyes hook of buy one, get three free. It sort of comes off as a delicious dare. Almost inevitably, it’s a collection-only set-up. But it already feels like they’re doing you such a favour, that an overly generous delivery service on top would just seem rude. What more do you want? Staff folding up a slice and putting it into your mouth? Kebabs are also on offer. The fare is Halal. What are you waiting for? Save a slice for breakfast though, eh?
