The Peking Wok isn’t my favourite Chinese but it is a nice takeaway nevertheless. I enjoy the chicken chow Mein from here, I usually have a preference for the chicken curry but I feel as though The Peking Wok do a better job with the chow Mein. You receive your usual Chinese restaurant portion of chips, the kind that can feed three people. The staff are nice and the Western like swinging doors mean you can sometimes have a quick watch of what happens behind the scenes which is always comforting.

For my money, this is the best Chinese takeaway in Birmingham. First ordered from here as a young whippersnapper after a drunken St Patrick’s Day Parade celebration, and I’ve been going back ever since. The chicken fried rice is to die for, and I’ve found no other place in England to match it. The staff are pleasant, the food is always readied pretty quickly, and the prices are very reasonable. There are always a few special offers on, though I’m happy sticking to my chicken fried rice for the most part.
