This is a household bargains shops along the lines of Poundland, but with stock that is a wee bit better and at slightly more than a pound. It’s a fairly small shop and feels quite cramped inside, especially on the weekends when there are a fair few customers inside. You can get most things for the home here, teatowels, bedding, that sort of thing — the unspectacular and the necessary, in short, but we all need those things from time to time, and this is as good a place as any to pick them up. The staff are friendly and will help you find what it is you are looking for. They also tend to have the more bargain items on display out at the front of the store when the weather is good.

Max Value sells the largest variation of batteries I’ve ever seen. If you can’t find a specific battery make that you’re after, I’d suggest checking this place out first. Other than this claim that I’ve just pinned onto the store, Max Value tends to sell the standard household needs, such as brooms, buckets, baskets and brushes, which are all very handy to to keep in the home. Although not a pound shop, the store is cheaply priced, and is aesthetically very similar to the standard retailers of its kind. There’s nothing particularly special about the shop, but of course, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. Max Value knows exactly where its market sits, and can enjoy a frequent amount of buzzing customers, who are always in need of its stock, whether it be paper plates for parties, or plastic cups to use regularly in the home. There are also a selection of Mr Men bags at the back of the shop, which reminded me of my childhood; I was so tempted to buy one a Mr Tickle one!
