This is a pretty good little café and yet another student hang out in Selly Oak. They sell a range of hot and cold drinks and food such as paninis, baguettes and salads. I have been in here a couple of times for lunch or just a frothy coffee. I enjoy their cappuccinos, I think that they are always good and nothing beats a good coffee! I always enjoy their food too, they make really nice baguettes and I love their salads too. The prices are fairly cheap so if you stop by for lunch it will not break the bank! I have always found the staff really friendly and polite and I often make chit chat with them if I pop in, which is always nice. Overall, I think that this is a good café, worth a visit if you live in the Selly area!

There’s countless eateries in Selly Oak, and Light Bite of Oak Tree Lane is just one of several located in the upper end of the main student area. Specialising in general café cuisine, they sell a range of baguettes(from £2.49), paninis(from £3.29), pasta, and salads, as well as a variety of hot drinks such as cappuccinos. You can almost be sure of getting a table, thanks to the amble seating inside and out. I first felt obligated to partake in some of their food after using their shop for shelter during a particularly heavy rain storm, and haven’t looked back since, despite the prices being higher than some of the budget food outlets dotted around the area. The one drawback is that a couple of times that I’ve been in there, they’ve been playing trance music rather loudly, which does something to spoil what would otherwise be a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, but don’t let that put you off.
