Poplar Road, along with nearby York Road, are the perfect antidote to the madness that is the Kings Heath high street. Both roads offer some really nice, new, and forward thinking businesses, from organic cafes, to trendy bars and boutique shops. AA Jewellers pre-​dates this gentrification, but is not out of place on the new Guardianised Poplar Road. It’s a place where you can get watches and other jewellery repaired for a reasonable price, and places like that will never go out of style. His prices are reasonable and the service is always excellent. If he can’t fix your item there and then, he’ll have it back to you in a few days. Recommended.

Situated on Poplar Road in what could be called King’s Heath’s Jewellery quarter near to the Jewellery stop and Armadillo, this is the place you come in King’s Heath to get your watch or your gold chain fixed. They sell a fair few watches and a not particularly inspiring selection of jewellery. In fact, the retail end of the buisness seems a bit random, as it doesn’t usual to me for a jewellers to sell that kind of digital scales.
Anyhow, digressions aside, AA Jewellers and repairs is very much a does-​what-​it-​says-​on-​the-​tin kind of buisness, with little in the way of fancy trimmings. I’ve used their services several times before and they’ve never let me down, nor did I feel I was over charged, in fact they are undoubtedly cheaper than some of the more glamourous looking establishments offering the same services. Reccomended for jewellery repairs.

I’ve had a Timex Explorer watch for 4 years now. During that time, the watch has been up the Welsh mountain Cadair Idris with me twice, and has joined me in swimming over 100 miles in my local gym pool. The battery is dead and the strap is looking frayed and tired. The internet tells me that I can send the watch to Timex for them to carry out the repairs, but it’ll take a few days to get back to me. So I trot of down to AA Jewellers. They’ve been good to me before. I sometimes need specialist batteries and they always have them in stock at a good price.
The smiling chap behind the counter says he’s got the replacement strap in stock, and the requisite battery too. Minutes later, (after we’ve shared a joke), the job is done. If you are after an efficient, quick and knowledgeable service for jewellery repairs, then AA Jewellers is your place.
