I(WAS) going to whinge about the slight wait and bit of hassle I had whilst waiting for my last appointment here but I’m all inked up, my tattoo’s finished and I really can’t bring myself to complain: D At first I was a little worried as the artist who was supposed to be inking me was changed from Sam(whose work I know, and I think is brill) to Robin, their resident artist. Robin did a great job though(my fears disappeared immediately when I saw some of his previous work, WOW!) He inked me up all lovely and what not so I have no complaints in that department. He was VERY professional and(thankfully) exact, I though after five times of placing the stencil that he’d get it right, but the guys only being precise, it is on me forever to be fair so I was pleased he was so particular about it. I’ll upload some pics of both Sam & Robin’s work so you can judge for yourself. I can’t recommend this parlour any more. 5*! Price Guide: I got black script, five words, small & detailed font: £100 N.B. One word would be roughly £40 You could get a detailed drawing for £100 **This is only a guide, you need to call in and talk to the artists to discuss prices, design etc** You must be 18+ to get tattoo.

Skin works is a tattoo parlour/coffee shop in Queen Street in Belfast. I’ve mentioned before that I’ve never gotten a tattoo and its still the case. So I’ll talk about the coffee shop aspect of this place and leave it to the braver, tattoo clad Unilocalers to review that side of Skin works. This café looks fantastic, it’s dark, brooding with awesome pictures/examples of work on the walls and some good old fashioned hardcore playing in the back ground. It’s certainly a step away from the usual coffee shop interiors seen in Belfast. From what I can tell some of the staff are the apprentices of the tattoo studio, so if ever you were feeling brave enough, I’m sure a person could negotiate over an espresso, offering a limb to the inexperienced for a tattoo at learners prices, maybe even for free, but of course, at your own risk. Good coffee, unique surroundings.
