Heard a few recommendations for this place from guys in work so went with a few colleagues one day after having to pass on Café Conor due to how packed it was. Honestly? It wasn’t great. Not great at all. They had a special of chicken goujons and chips which we all decided to go for, but these were the most greasy, chewy and just flat out bad things I’ve ever tasted. Like seriously, they were worse than what you would get out of a bad chippy. Chips were alright. But yeah, I think their sandwiches are probably grand since it’s hard to get sandwiches wrong, but I really wouldn’t go here again for hot food.

Another wee gem located right beside Queens. Ravenous does great tasting fresh sandwiches and hot food which is reasonably priced. This place is great if your a student and your looking a quick bite to eat before class or even if your just in the area. I got a cajun chicken and bacon sandwich and it was delicious. The meal wad only £5 which is seriously cheap! If your about call in and experience the food.

Ravenous is just a small take away sandwich bar, with a few tables and chairs upstairs. It’s nothing fancy visually, in fact it could probably do with a makeover, as upstairs especially looks a little dark and shabby. Despite this their food is delicious. Fresh breads and tasty fillings. Simple, straight forward and no gimmicks — just delectable food made from fresh ingredients. They also serve hot breakfast foods in the morning and soups and chips as well. The service is very good too with pleasant, professional staff. Can be very busy at lunch time as it’s popular with nearby office workers and students. I really recommend the feta, salad and olive sandwich — it’s so tasty and bursting with flavour.

YUM! Been going to Ravenous as one of my regular lunch spots for a few months now. It’s a cosy wee place with not much room for seating downstairs(upstairs has a few more tables going) but I don’t have time to sit in anyway. Their suggestions menu has loads of lovely combinations to try and everything’s always fresh and tasty. The soup’s always nice but a bit too expensive if you are getting a sandwich too. They’ve started doing sodas recently and they are to die for — for when you’ve had a naughty night out on a week day ;)

Ravenous is a sandwich bar and coffee shop on the fantastic Stranmillis Road. To me, this place has never seemed very inviting. It looks dark and the décor looks pretty old from the outside. The food itself is ok, really nothing special at all. If there aren’t any seats on the outside, which are always limited due to the front being on a foot path. There are a lot of really nice coffee shops close by that I would recommend before this place! A pity, because of it’s convenient location to the Botanic Gardens.

Well, I blinkin’ well was. Ravenous that is. Having eaten a sort of mid-morning snack at French Village three hours previously, my stomach didn’t hesitate to remind me that I hadn’t eaten lunch. Thankfully, Ravenous was just across the road. Thank goodness. Not being a sandwich fan at all, I checked out the board for panini options. And darn it, they only had suggestions. Meaning I had to make more of a decision than usual. «Up to any 3 fillings», I read. Ok… The staff were very patient with me, and didn’t mind my staring aimlessly into space(that’s my thinking look) for a good few minutes. Settling on chicken, cheese and sweet chilli sauce(eventually), I informed one of the girls of my choice. She told me it wouldn’t be long, so I took a little perch on one of the bar chairs at the window. And blimey, she was right. Within minutes, my panini was done. Not quite as well as I would have liked, but I have seen far, far worse. It didn’t taste half bad either. In fact, I devoured it in about the same about of time as it took to make. And considering that was pretty quick, it was almost a swallow. Definitely the place to call in to if you’re, say… feeling ravenous.

When you’re in the mood for a sandwich,(one that you haven’t made yourself the night before) then it really needs to deliver. When you order one, it has to be full and bursting with a gorgeous combination of ingredients, and has to fill you up and totally satisfy you. Ravenous sarnies definitely do that. They do baguettes, sandwiches, wraps and panninis and they are all lovely, well, any of the ones I have sampled have been nice. The service is good, the staff are experienced and quick workers and I would say it does a good trade. It’s worth popping in here if you’re in the Stranmillis area and looking for a quick bite to eat and don’t want to pay the earth for it.
