Oh, how I’ve missed you. Long gone from the U.S., I make a point of visiting HMV whenever I come across one in Europe. While they can be overpriced, I fondly remember lunchtime visits to their 5^th Avenue shop in NYC, where they’d often have concerts scheduled & I’d see bands like The Chieftains or The Wolfe Tones play free sets to promote a new release.
Now of course, there’s a Starbucks or some such in its place, so I go to Amazon or Best Buy, which while arguably cheaper, doesn’t bring the pleasure or immediacy of a visit to HMV or Tower. Granted, It’s still a bit frustrating to go & not find something you’ve got your heart set on, but there’s rarely a time when you’ll leave empty-​handed.
Here, you’re right in the city center & there’s a great selection of Irish & even local music to choose from. Give it a look.

I love this store. I have to mention first the brilliant staff. They are obviously well trained and informed on how to deal with customers. They are always very friendly, helpful and polite. I pretty much only go in here for video games and I find most of the games to be really overpriced. Sometimes you can get a bargain but the majority of the time, the pricing is very high. They need to learn that games come down in price after a while. For dvds and cds though, there is plenty of bargains to be found and a really huge stock for plenty of choice.

This is a well stocked store. The staff are really friendly and will help you find whatever you are after, HMv used to be over priced but seem to have brought their prices in line with everywhere else now and often do really good offers on new cds games and videos.

This store is in a great location, and it has such a wide selection of games, dvds, and cds. You can get so many things under one roof. The staff are very helpful, and really go out of their way to help you. The only thing is at xmas they seem to have the worst queues in belfast!

The location of this store is great, it’s right in the heart of Belfast. It does all the same promotions as the other stores. I found the staff VERY knowledgeable about movies. I wanted a dvd I couldn’t remember the name of and I vaguely described it to an employee. He got his colleague and they brought me a selection of movies to look at. They brought the right one first time!
I was impressed!

This HMV is brilliant because they have so many games, dvds & cds that you wouldnt expect to be in stock! Great january & mid-​summer sales too! Sometimes the queues after christmas can be a bit long & annoying but HMV do have a lot of good deals & offers on throughout the year!
