Everyone likes a pair of designer boxers now and again but I don’t really understand why there needs to be a full shop dedicated to Calvin Klein’s underwear especially when they sell the exact same products in House of Fraser that is less than a minutes walk away. Not only that but the underwear in the Calvin Klein store is sold at a hugely inflated price in comparison to House of Fraser. The store itself is sleek and classy and I suppose the fact that it sells every single type of CK underwear is its niché. It doesn’t really do anything for me as a shop and I’ve never seen more than one customer inside at any one time. Suppose it’s OK but nothing special. Don’t expect to see anything other than underwear in here.

Known as the world’s finest designer underwear for men and women, Calvin Klein Underwear was formed in 1982 and would forever alter the way the world viewed-and bought-men’s underwear. Once a utilitarian product, men’s underwear suddenly became an object of desire. New advertising campaigns communicated the message of the updated, sexy designer sensibility that distinguished Calvin Klein Underwear from all others. A complete women’s line followed in 1983. Each season since then, the brand has delivered a new line including basics, basics in fashion colours, as well as fashion-forward, trendy underwear to stores. This pretty much sums this place up and you kind of know what you are going to be getting if you call in here. Now, as I have said in other reviews I don’t mind spending a wee bit of coin on my wardrobe and have called in here to check out some of the merchandise. I didn’t really see anything I liked but found the shopping experience all in all quite ok. The shop itself is pretty nice, and the staff are lovely, helpful and discreet.

So I buy my pants from Primark. Hence why I found this particular venture a tad confusing and a bit of a struggle. My brother’s birthday was coming up so I figured it was present time. There is only so many times I can get a «happy birthday sister» or «sorry you are leaving» card so this time I thought I would get him a real present that would cost money and everything. After an unsuccessful shopping trip which seen be go to the cinema out of frustration, I found myself dandering around Victoria Square when I walked past this shop. Now he enjoys to wear clothes that are made by people who«have taste» as he puts it i.e. Jack and Jones, Republic etc I called in here and despite being taken aback by the amount of different kinds and colours and shapes of underpants, I got him a pair which despite being a little bit expensive I knew he would like. Though the people in the shop looked at me as if they expected me to buy a little bit more than some pants, they did go down as a hugely successful present and I was almost tempted to call in and see about buying myself a pair but I’m not vain enough.
