Café Nero is a standard coffee house chain with all the typical cappuccino, latte, espresso menu along with herbal and house teas. They have a selection of sandwiches and soups. Deals of you buy both. They aren’t the best quality but ok for a quick bite. Lots of juice cups that can be made into big frozen slushy drinks. £3.50 is a lot for a big glass of juice/sugar. The cakes and traybakes are ok. I’ve not tired them all but the few Ive had with friends were just ok. The staff are friendly, banter between themselves most of the time but pleasant enough. Reasonably clean. (Calendar st)

Bring me caffeine! Call in here most mornings to get my AM fix of caffeine. The service here is great and the sizeable queue most mornings is primarily due to the place just being popular. Don’t be put off. The baristas have normally served half the queue already. Food here is pre packed so you should expect the only thing to be prepared fresh is the coffee. The prices are reasonable but there are other places near buy that can serve you up fresh coffee, for a cheaper price. On the plus side there is an abundance of space with downstairs and upstairs seating. It’s Perfect place to chill out and get lost in the latest Novel or hold an impromptu business meeting(I have done both)

Café Nero is one of my favourite coffee shops in Belfast city centre. Really good coffee, sandwiches, cakes, muffins, scones and pastries. It’s large in size with seating over two floors. Very comfy seats, large windows and an outdoor area as well — it’s a perfect people watching spot. Great for resting weary legs whilst shopping. If I can fault it at all, it’s just that they do occasionally close off the top floor which is a bit annoying. However I always manage to get a seat here and luckily often obtain one of the much sought after window seats.

June 5th, 2014. So, we are walking down the street, totally dying for a place that would offer a quick bite and we see this place along the way. Its a corner spot with big windows. Inside is decorated just fine. There were some newspaper type themes going on… nice. I got a sandwich with some cheese and meat. I didnt realize that the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted it warmed up… cuz it could have used some heat. My fault. My friend got theirs warmed up and they were tasty too. Dessert was great. Not sure what else was around the area because we walked straight to the Titanic museum. BUT, if given the opportunity I would come back here and have a coffee. Oh, I remember why, the two guys working there were really nice and the place was really clean. #lateryelp oh, and thank god they accept american cards as I only had euro on me, whoops.

This is a great little spot in Belfast, really close to the Christmas Markets. We were in there on a Sunday morning and it was hopping. There is not much open in Belfast on a Sunday morning, but this was open the whole day. They have great little Christmas coffees, lovely seats and big windows for you to look out on and watch the world go by. What else would one like to do on a Sunday morning?

I love Neros at the fountain centre. When its a good day, you can sit outside and its great for people watching. It also has an outdoor terrace on the upper level which is lovely if you want away from the busy street. The friendly staff serve a brilliant cappuchino and are always chatty. The shop can be queued at lucnhtime and the service a little slow. Inside it is warm and comfortable with huge windows. There is an upstairs seating area too that is quieter. The range of food isn‘t great(and a bit expensive for what you get) which is the reason for the 3 star rating. The coffee however is very good. My only other complaint is that there is one toilet downstairs, situated right at the seating area and it isn‘t pleasant when the door is left lying open. The only other single toilet(and I assume the male bathrooms consist of a single toilet also) is upstairs which isn‘t always open. There is also not a great deal of room, when busy, for prams.

I gotta say this is now the café of choice when we are in town shopping, loads of space and you can always get a table. Plenty of goodies to choose from, even on a busy Sunday afternoon, they do lovely cookies, muffins and delightful slices of cake and of course teas and coffees galore. We met friends there on Sunday and had a very pleasant hour chatting in the relaxed atmosphere without feeling pressurised to vacate our seats for 20 teenagers to sit over one coffee. The only negative thing about NERO is the area, slightly on the seedy side, there are a few people lurking around outside who look like they spent a large part of their adult lives in some sort of Penitentiary, but apart from this its great! Quick service and reasonably priced

A dreadful coffee experience at Nero’s — mouthfuls of bitter grounds — had been quite put me off the place for well over a year but I thought I’d give it another chance for a lunch time cup of coffee. In the event the latte I had was fine and the lemon poppy seed muffin quite passable, though their buns and biscuits I think are terribly expensive, not good value for something that is more mass produced than fresh home baked. Like Lynne M I was offered a loyalty card though was a bit miffed only to get one stamp, not two! The shop was seemed more orderly and better run than on my last visit. There was a rather older clientele, I’d say consisting of tourists and visiting shoppers rather than the regular city dwellers and workers. They probably think it’s a safe bet, which I suppose Nero’s is usually, though it has a certain blandness that is shared by other big chain, big name coffee shops.

After many(failed) attempts at overcoming excruciatingly painful personal issues, I finally did it… I went to a coffee shop on my own, purchased a ‘freshly blended’ iced drink on my own, and sat at a table on my own. Just me, on my lonesome, all by myself. Even a year ago, I wouldn’t have been seen dead in a coffee house on my ownio. I was far too aware that everyone would be looking at me and laughing at the girl in the corner… deserted, desolate and detached. Of course, I now know that’s not how people act, but in my head, and at that time, it most definitely was. Caffe Nero was the coffee shop of choice, having only fairly recently taken over Paul Rankin’s café on the corner of Fountain Street. As I am not a tea or coffee drinker, the only other options are hot chocolate or a cold beverage, so a ‘freshly blended’ iced drink it was. I like the way you select the drink in the fridge(I went for orange, lemon and lime) and then take it to the counter for a bit of whizzing action. Weeeeee. Whilst watching the female barista give my drink a good blend, I must have had the expression of a decidedly unfamiliar Caffe Nero novice, for the male barista asked me if I had a loyalty card. When I replied no, he gave me not one, but two stamps on a new one and handed me it. Must’ve liked the look of me. The drink was incredibly thirst-quenching, and also seemingly bottomless. Despite a good 40 minute sit-down in Caffe Nero, I still could not finish it, and by the end of that time, I was absolutely bursting for the loo as I’d drunk so much. Great value for money methinks. The next time I’m feeling particularly daring and gutsy, I’ll be stepping back into Caffe Nero, armed with my twice-stamped loyalty card. Looking forward to it already.
