To be honest I wasn’t overly fussed with the takeaway we ordered from Bithika. The ordering process was great, I was able to place my order with my trusty Unilocal App which was simple and easy to use. I got my order number emailed to me and went to collect my order. When we arrived our order was ready for collection however the guy serving was more interested in watching the tv than actually serving us. We ordered the meal for one which was any starter, any main, any side and a drink for £10.95. Such great value and you weren’t restricted in what you could choose, you could choose absolutely anything on their menu. The meal was just okay — not bad but not great either. The prawns were the tiniest I’ve ever seen(I wasn’t expecting king prawns but I was expecting bigger than what we got). I also noticed when leaving the restaurant that they only have a 3 star hygiene rating — not great — especially these days most places have 4 or 5.

New Years Day — you know the drill, wake up with a raging hangover and tell yourself that ‘new year, new me’ starts officially n the 2nd of January. Having let myself off the hook with doing any form of movement I decided to really see out 2015 with a bang by ordering an Indian. We decided to turn to the trusty Unilocal app for advice on where to get the last Indian of the Year from and low and behold we came across Bithika. The reason we choose to order from Bithika is because we noticed you could order directly through the Unilocal app and set a time that you would pick your order up. This was the perfect extra convenience for our lazy day. We went for a meal deal that included a starter, a main with a side and a can for £10.95. This was easily enough for two people. There was loads of choice with this deal as you could literally select anything on the menu. We opted for Prawn Puri and Prawn Patia. The food was nice, buy nothing special. The prawns in both dishes were small and would have put you in mind of frozen prawns you get from the supermarket. Both dishes were packed full of flavour — the Pathia was hot and tasty but the container was mostly made up of sauce. I think 3 stars is about right for Bithika, great ordering/collection process and prices but other than that just average.

This one of Belfast’s many Indian/Kebab takeaways and to be honest it’s one of the bets in the south of the city. My prerogative when it comes to Indian food is Indie on Stranmillis, it always has and most likely always will be… but on the odd occasion when ethanol is flowing freely through me and I require sustenance, then this place is certainly worth the trip. They do a range of the usual suspects, I think as far as my jaded, misanthropic memory serves me was a Jalfrezi. Chunky pieces of well seared chicken in a rich, oily sauce with plenty of chilli, coriander and texture. It’s cheap too. I think my dish was under £6 which is fantastic for Indian food in the city. Well worth calling over for a quick meal once you’ve sampled the offerings of the bars in the area.

Bithika really is a wee gem on the Lisburn Road! It’s an Indian take away and not only is it cheap as chips– averaging at £5 or £6. but the food is really fantastic. We were across the road in Ryan’s having a few drinks and had a real hankering for some spicy food and had heard this place was good. So we dandered over and ordered a whole heap of everything(as you do) and had quite the feast to ourselves that night. with even enough for breakfast!(no, I’m not ashamed. we’ve all been there!). Absolute first class!

The Lisburn Road has 1000 takeaways, many of which are bland and make the same food as the one beside it. There is always the possibility you can become disillusioned that the Lisburn Road lacks any quality takeaways. But then you stumble upon this little gem and everything changes. The food is quality and at around £5 for all of your food, its hard to beat. I’ve not been to an Indian where I’ve felt as satisfied afterwards as I did with this. It’s a great place to get a great takeaway. It’s even provided the food for my housemates’ «Vindaloo competition» — the first one to drink loses. Despite the painful conclusion to the competition which resulted in a few tears, the food was still fantastic and certainly one of the best on the Lisburn Road

This takeaway does a range of Indian food and also has a delivery service. The menu includes appetizers such as onion bhajee, pakoras and samosas. Their main specialities are from the tandoor oven with both lamb and chicken dishes. The quality of the food is very good and I have to stay this is my first choice takaway in Belfast. When I have used the delivery service I have found it to be quick.
