On passing you could be mistaken for thinking that Ye Old Bulls Head is just your standard run of the mill Local Pub — the exterior is rather uninspiring there is nothing to suggest that its anything more than a traditional Village Pub However On entering you realise that this Pub /Restaurant is in a different league. Whilst I have not been fortunate enough to eat in the main restaurant I have eaten in the Brasserie on many occasions and each time have thoroughly enjoyed my meal and been delighted with the service. Whilst the Public Bar retains its Traditional Coaching Inn Style, with low ceilings and interseting nooks and Crannies the adjacent Brasserie is contemporary, mixing slate and stone with floor to ceiling windows to create a Modern & Airy feel. It feels very homely, almost as if youre stepping into a friends Kitchen or dining in your Conservatory. As suggested tha Brasserie does get extreemly busy and there is often a wait for a table, but the staff are extreemly professional and will call you to be seated as soon as they have a space. They offer a vast range of tempting food, using fresh local products to create a mix of British Favourites along with some more exotic Far Eastern dishes. With so many tempting dishes and always a good selection of specials it is often difficult to choose — but amongst my favourites are the Homemade Scotch Eggs, Fish & chips with Pea Purée, and Chicken Stay Noodles and for seafood lovers you must try the locally caught Menai Mussels. Everything is cooked and prepared to a very high standard and considering this the prices are very reasonable — with main courses starting from around £9. It’s well worth travelling to the Island to experience the delights of The Bull — Beaumaris itself is a lovely quaint Seaside town so its a perfect excuse for a day out finnished off with a beautiful meal at the Bull. Next on my To-Do-List is a meal in the Restaurant I always have a peak at the Menu when i’m in the Brasserie and am often tempted by the Set Menu and judging by the reviews here I’m missing out!
