Stopped off for a bite to eat after our walk around the Roman Bath Museum. Great food and friendly service. We ordered fish and chips(delish) and if I remember my friend ordered a hamburger and chips. The place is very quaint during the day, but I bet gets lively at night with music and drink!

hope to be there soon, my first visit was in 1989 friend of mine worked as a stoneworker other side of the pub at walcot reclamation that i spendet a lot of time in the garden behind the bell in summer and at the fireplace in winter-pleasure to keep the contact to friends in bath. defenitely my favorite pub!

First impressions were not too good, something about the place felt awkward somehow. Perhaps because it looks a bit more downmarket inside than you would expect in Bath. But scruffy is not necessarily a bad thing, and it isn’t here. Turns out this is a pretty nice pub, old style, with a twist, suitable for the young and the old. My beer was nice(but hard to choose… from like 8 options! They have 7 regular ales. and they are really wonderful choices) And despite being busy the bartender was keen to serve. Annoying pub entertainments like TVs and fruit/quiz machines are deliberately and thankfully shunned. If you want to be diverted then come along for the live music.

This is a must visit Bath pub. Great ales and ciders, brilliant atmosphere with such an eclectic mix of people, music but not loud and banging unless it’s one of the livelier live acts they have on on a Monday or Wednesday. They have a really good well established open mic night in the back room(The Love Lounge) on a Thursday. There’s also a washing machine and a dryer out back too! Handy for the backpackers, do your washing and have a beer while you wait! One of my top 5 Bath pubs!

Top notch pub with everything you could possibly need — friendly, sexy bar staff, first class ales, ciders, beers and wines, a roaring fire, plenty of tables and chairs dotted about, a patio area with loads of picnic benches, awnings to keep you dry when smoking a fag, a back room where they pump out live music on a regular basis, a small stage area inside the main pub for jazz groups, a bar billiards table(how often do you see that?), plenty of snacking options, a Schwartz Brothers takeaway(also a beauty) just opposite and a superb atmosphere of mutual boozing. Five stars easily — six if there was the option.

I love this pub. An atmosphere that isnt recreated anywhere else in the city, superb beers and top music the majority of time. Laos Laos Laos

Bath can be a pretentious place and this unassuming little pub is the perfect antidote. I worked over the road from it for years and still never new of its existence, but once I discovered it it became a real favourite. It’s a really cosy ‘proper’ pub, with real ales on tap, a relaxed atmosphere, a refreshingly frazzled clientele, and a nice little garden. This friendly place is extremely untypical of Bath, making it one of the best places there by a mile.

One of the best«old style» pubs remaining in Bath. By which I mean a place you can get great real ales, sit down with your mates and have a good chat(unless it’s one of the live music nights!) Situated in Bath’s bohemian quarter, and with an eclectic clientele this is an oasis in the desert of soulless pubs smothering the rest of the city.

great little pub, bit out of the centre of town but well worth the walk if u are looking for a proper old man pub, quite a decent selection of beers, a generous beer garden at the back, a busy but relaxed atmosphere. and often playing live music which can be really good. great for a few evening drinks or a more full on session.

Oh Bell, how I miss thee. With your live music that ranged from the absolutely cool to the absolutely bizarre, with your eclectic clientele and your booze, and with your loose tobacco filled floors. So many drunkhappy nights were spent arguing about the final score of the foosball match because«the table is tilted!!» It’s hands down the best pub in Bath. I was a foreign outsider who stumbled in the Bell randomly on the way home one day and have thanked their free wifi sign out front ever since. What started out as a place to ease my homesickness through their wifi turned into a place full of friendships, hilarious themed parties, and events that turned Bath into my home away from home. Whether it was watching the hippies warm their feet by the fire, swaying to a live reggae band, or getting completely drunk in the corner while making fun of the BBC(Boring Blokes Corner), I loved every second I spent in that place.

One of my all time favourites. Excellent any time with great beers, great atmosphere and great music at times. Get in the corner with the billiard table and have a few games over a pint or two. Recommend the strong Belgian Beers for something different. Up to 12%! Also excellent in the day for a quiet cup of tea.

The Bell Inn is a large popular pub, in Walcot Street, near the centre of Bath. The Bell has free live music every Monday and Wednesday evening and Sunday lunchtime and an open mic night every Thursday night. A good selection of real ales is served here including Butcombe and Gem which are brewed locally. I remember having Raspberry Lager here once which was quite nice. They serve bar snacks and rolls and home made pizza on a Sunday afternoon.
