Savoy Snooker Club

A bit of a dive but great place to go if you’re a rocker/​goth/​emo as there is not any other places like this one in Barry, toilets should be avoided at all costs.
Only problem is the underage teenagers hanging around outside and being loud but altogether a good, cheap night out.

The savoy is the very definition of Dive bar.
It has sticky floors, metal anthems and drinks served in cans. Once upon a time it was a place for the youth and for some, now it’s just a piece of nostalgia.
Is it great? No. Is it good? No.
You should visit for the experience and use it to bond with others who have been.
Think metros on a smaller scale.

On a Saturday night there is nowhere else for the rock/goth/emo’s to go in Barry except ‘The Savoy’ with ‘Jumpin Johnny Ace’ :-) Unfortunately they lost their early hours license due to excessive numbers of kids congregating outside and causing trouble (Only out there due to them being underage) This is unfortunate as the music played inside and the atmosphere is great. There is something for all during the night — whether you are into 80’s pop/​rock or 90’s metal or even modern emo you will have a good night. The drinks are reasonably priced and the DJ is very approachable (if getting a little wrinkly around the edges). If you want a good night of it make sure you get a few friends in and get there early as the club closes at 11.30−12.00
