Great gastro pub set on the outskirts of Wendover. The pub has a large beer garden which is great for sitting out and enjoying a summers evening. No children’s play area so it tends to be a quiet place to sit and chat. Inside the pub has an authentic inn feel with open fires in the winter months. The food is typical pub food, good sized portions at an average price. Its very busy at weekends, particularly Sunday and they can run out of some lunch choices.

It has been a long time since I went to this pub. A friend warned me off going to the Firecrest, but it used to be so good that I went along anyway. Well, it was really disappointing. The bar staff were rude and aggressive, and spent most of their time chatting in a corner ignoring the customers. We only had drinks there, so I can’t comment on the food, but based on the(lack of) customer service, I cannot recommend this pub to anyone else. It’s a shame because it is in a great location in a really nice building.

The Fire Crest has really improved this year from going down hill last year. The food has improved no end and i feel that its back to its best again! Good job guys!

Not been so great the last few times I’ve visited. Miss some of the old menus. Probably won’t go again.

What a nice pub! If you’re looking for a traditional ale house, you could do far worse than the Fire Crest. They have a good range of real ales on tap, and a pretty extensive menu, with a beer garden in the back so the anklebiters can cavort about the place. The pork fillet stuffed with spinach and wrapped in pancetta was very tasty, while the pork in cider with apples stew was less successful, suffering from lots of gristle. The kids fish and chops went down well but the cauliflower cheese was runny and a bit tasteless. The mushroom and spinach lasagna was good and huge, and enough to satisfy almost any appetite. The service is very friendly and accommodating, though somewhat slow at times. If we lived in the area, I could see us visiting more often but with expectations of some highs and a few disappointments along the way.

I went on Mothers Day last year and was really dissapointed as i had heard really good things. I had Mushrooms(which were nice) and then the Linguini pasta dish which was so bland and wasnt particually warm. My mum enjoyed her roast. There is lots of parking and the restaurant does look nice. I know the chain has changed the menu, so i would probably try again in the future. The setting is quite nice as it off the road between Aylesbury and Missenden.

This is a lovely traditional pub which serves great food and large portions! It is very reasonably priced as well. The setting is very pleasant with a large car park, outdoor area and surrounded by fields. The only drawback is the A413, which runs alongside, can get noisy and can be a pain to get in and out of the car park.

The restuarant and pub are great inside and we really enjoyed the food. It is classic pub grub as is part of a chain of pubs, although it is a little different to some. There wasn’t a massive vegetarian option when I was last there which was about 6 months ago, therefore it may be better now. The main problem with this place is, it is outside of Wendover on the road towards Great Missenden. Unfortunately too this road is really busy and the turning in and out of the carpark is really quite dangerous as it is hard to see as own a bit of a dip, you really have to take care.

Restaurant and pub, which has a good selection of meals on the menu. The food is very good and the servings are large at a reasonable price. Can get busy, particularly in the summer, but I think this generally is a good indication of the quality of food. The only drawback is that you need a car to get there as it is situated on the main road running from Wendover to Amersham and not situated in the centre of town.
