A little out of the centre of Axminster, is Cinnamons Indian Restaurant, an impressive looking building with an inviting façade. The restaurant itself is fairly small, but with a modern clean finish and contemporary art adorning the walls. The restaurant itself probably only seats about twenty, but Cinnamons has takeaway and delivery service, which was extremely popular. This meant a steady stream of people coming in during the course of the evening to collect their takeaways; due to the size of the restaurant, this could put off some diners. A well stocked bar and helpful, but not intrusive staff, was another plus point. After studying the wide ranging menu, we plumped for a set meal for two(£27.95) and an additional rice and chicken sagwala, as there were three of us. After the obligatory poppadoms, mango chutney, lime pickle etc., there were two starters of chicken tikka and lamb tikka, both of which were beautifully tender. In addition to the sagwala, the set menu mains were a chicken korma and a lamb bhuna, pretty standard stuff, but tasty. The accompaniments of a plain naan, pilau rice and huge portion of mushroom pilau, made for a great meal. As usual at the end of the meal, we were all extremely full and passed on the desserts. Overall it lived up to its billing as the best Indian restaurant in the area; drinks were a little expensive though
