The Mongkok Computer Centre

This little computer mall has possibly everything you need from computer parts to wifi eggs, cables, chargers (with and without quick charge, not for iPhones though), and external batteries up to 12,000 mAh (and here I thought my 2,000 mAh was wicked). The staff at each stand are pretty knowledgeable about their products and a lot of locals come here just to keep up to date on the newest technologies/​gadgets. Sometimes they’ll even let you negotiate prices with them so shop around and ask for better deals!

If you’re looking for electronics such as computer screen, camera batteries, batteries, power bank, sound system, SD cards and other USB and external hard drive storage, headphones, etc. you’ll find it here.
It doesn’t have as much as Dragon Center in Sham Shui Po or Wan Chai Computer Center but this limited space and smaller selection makes it very organized and quicker to find what you you’re looking for.
If you’re many looking for camera lenses and related things don’t look here they don’t have it.
Don’t forget to negotiate when you buy things.

Where to buy computer hardwares? Most of local HongKonger would tell you Golden Computer Centre in Sham Sui Po, and this is not totally correct. Nowadays Mongkok Computer Centre has been grown as big as Golden, or even bigger. What makes it better than Golden? Maybe Golden computer is just too tight for a fatty like me. There are too many people, super crowded, I can’t breathe there!
Price in Mongkok and Golden are almost the same, but compare to the US they are just as cheap as Mcdonald’s dollar menu. You would never ever believe that if you’ve not been to Here. A 25 bucks Bestbuy HDMI cable cost only 50HKD. That’s about 6 bucks ok! A 64GB SanDisk extreme Pro SD card, guess how much it is – only 730hkd, not even a hundred USD! You do remember how much it’s in frys right? Fyi it is 130 bucks.
Shopping here you have to remember one rule: you always get the best price in the most deepest shop. The deeper the cheaper. Just don’t trust anything said from the store right in front of the door. They will try everything to pull out anything from your pocket. And don’t buy anything that have no price tags on. They know the price and they know how to make you feel ‘oh god this is so cheap I gotta buy this’ while at the same time make us locals feel ‘Jesus Chris you are kidding.’
