baked taro seafood rice with cheese was my choice of lunch today. my colleagues ordered laksa n yellow curry rice. mine was actually really good! taro is definitely the highlight in the dish n seafood options were plentiful, nice touch! the only complain would be the shrimp. pale n tasteless. oh well that’s why it’s charged 72hkd n not 172hkd lol. seatings n service are alright. good for groups!

Heard that the bak kut teh is good here but it is not on today’s lunch menu *sob sob*… The laksa I have ordered is okay, the shrimps are fresh and«Al Dante». However not enough coconut in the soup base so the flavour is not rich enough. The décor and environment is good, very spacious. Will definitely try out the bak kut teh next time. Heard that it comes with either rice or instant noodle(will revise the review if that is as good as I’m told)

I went to Sun Thai yesterday for the first time in their new location. They were previously located in Jaffe Road, just around the corner from W Square in a smaller space but at ground level. My boyfriend made a reservation for us at 7pm after the success meal we had at their former location where we really enjoyed ourserlves(so this review will also include some highlights from that other meal). We arrived on time thinking it’d be crowded but it was far from that. Really nice and quiet(obviously not so nice from a business perspective but I was expecting it to get fuller as the evening went on which somehow happened). We were seated by the window in the comfiest of places. Decoration wise is cozy although it lacks a little bit of care in the finishings. I guess it’s still a bit work in progress. Anyway, our table was huge and the seats really soft and comfy. The food… it’s just great. We ordered the steamed fish on stove, the roasted duck curry, morning glory with garlic and chilli and a young coconut. All I can say is that we finished the whole thing and could have had more, not because we weren’t full but because it was really tasty. The curry wasn’t so remarkable, the pieces of duck were just a few but the sauce was great. Last time we ordered the fried fish salad together with the steamed fish and it was a feast. This time the sauce that comes with that salad is amazing. The bill came at around 400HKD, which I think it’s reasonable. Last time I felt the food was plentier and it was definitely cheaper so we may stick to those choices next time(basically fish). One thing about the service: they’re ultra nice, but they don’t speak much English. However they make all efforts to understand. I hope they’ll be able to keep all their customers from Jaffe Road in their new location(it was always full at dinner time). They definitely kept me! And will be back.
