I noticed some 2014 restaurants award on the wall as we were leaving and had to ask if anyone at our table could imagine why.
The food was fine, but certainly nothing special or authentic that seemed warranted to win any particular away.
I had the fried chicken with rice noodles in soy sauce which was a pretty unimpressive dish. The fried chicken chunks needed an extra lemon wedge to break it up (or spice would have worked) and the dull consistency of the noodles was too monotone.
Although a few other items on the menu sounded good, I don’t think I’ll be back to try them with so many options available in HK. Another SoHo let down.

Thai is my favorite cuisine, and I have to say Soho Spice offers the best Thai food I’ve ever had!
Came here with 2 friends for Monday night dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is very dark, so it’s more of a romantic, «can barely see the person across from you» atmosphere.
We ordered the grilled lemongrass chicken, in yellow curry with eggplant and baked potatoes (HKD $ 148) for our main dish, the Thai beef salad with mint and lettuce (HKD $ 82) for our salad, the Thai Pineapple fried rice with chicken (HKD $ 78), and the grilled marinated pork neck (HKD $ 92) for 3 people, and we were completely stuffed before we could finish the food.
All the meat at Soho Spice was cooked with perfection! I was very, very impressed with the quality in addition to the savory taste. The yellow curry chicken was cooked tenderly as the chicken would melt in our mouths. The thai beef salad had juicy beef that bursted with flavor that went along perfectly with the rest of the salad.
I highly recommend this restaurant for high quality Thai food. It’s in the heart of Soho and would be a great restaurant to impress a date at!

For me, the food was good. No complaints. I do agree that some of the sauces were too peanuty.
But that’s ok for me. Catered to the western taste.
What I find so funny:
1. Waiters are so aloof and unattentive. Example: We were a table of Four. We wanted to order drinks. So, after 5 minutes, the waiter finally notices us. He takes the drink orders from two people and then abruptly walks away. hahaha… I wasn’t offended, but more amused.
2. Waiters don’t take down all your orders. They «forgot» to bring out two dishes. But, they didn’t charge us for them, so I guess our waiter just was day-​dreaming when we were giving him our order.
Lastly, this restaurant participates in the 2:1 deal on Monday nights.
Is it a good spot to take date? I think so. The ambiance is nice and it doesn’t feel too stuffy. But, I’d suggest you still try to find another option.
Sad to say… I won’t be coming back. See you NEVER.

Wenn man den Berg auf Hongkong Island und diese aussenliegende Rolltreppe nutzt, dann fällt einem irgendwann mal auf, dass man mit der Rolltreppe den Berghinauf befördertwird, man aber herunter laufen muss. Mir fiel das am oberen Ende der Treppe auf und dann ging es an den Abstieg während dem es zu regnen begann und ich Hunger bekam. In einer der Querstrassen fielmir Soho Spice auf. Angeboten wird mittags eine günstige Vor-​/​Hauptspeisenkombi für umgerechnet 10, – bis 12, – €.Dafür gab es einen sehr leckeren asiatischen Salat, süss-​sauer mit Früchten, sehr frisch. Danach wählte ich das Chicken Curry –mittelscharf (was es auch war) und Reis. Das Hühnchen in dem Curry war mit allen Teilen vorhanden, also auch den etwas knorpeligeren. Das Curry war jedoch sehr lecker. Service war sehr freundlich, Ambiente etwas eng — ansonsten ein durchschnittlicher Restaurantbesuch.

The Good: Portions are quite large, presentation is nice and the patio is a nice option on cool nights.
The Bad: All of the food tastes the same and very sweet. Red and Yellow curries were thick and gluggy consistency with a strong peanut butter flavour.
The Salmon Green Mango salad was very heavy handed with onion and the dressing was quite sweet.
Service was subpar, a bit slow and uninspired, however one of the gentleman that was there was quite pleasant, while one of the older waitresses had a poor attitude.
I doubt that I will be going back by choice.
