Lovely open space in causeway bay. Good food, good service. Lunch set and tea set are value for money. Autumn should be the best time to chill and relax at this place.

It’s an afternoon in December so it is great to enjoy a cup of Earl Grey in the open air. But I would not recommend that in the summer. The view is very open so it is very relaxing, although all the buildings around are very old ones, not so often to see Causeway Bay from this angle… Honestly, the tea and coffee are overpriced, but we stick with what we want although the wine and cocktail are priced more reasonably.

Shelter is a good place for drinks only. I’ve had dinner here and it is probably not my preferred choice. In my humble opinion the food at shelter was very unimpressionable to put it lightly. Perhaps the chef forgot to put salt on everything we ordered. It was just quite disappointing to be honest because it’s a beautiful venue. Coming here for drinks is completely a different story. The space is literally the most stunning in causeway bay for drinks. They have a large rooftop open space with pink dreamy lighting and soft lounge music playing in the background. My girlfriends and I loved coming here, to just chill, have great conversations and to be out of central!!! I love breathe and eat in central. I love it when I get to venture outside of central! So this shelter is definitely where I would take my out of town friends for drinks if we want to step out of Central for a change. It’s a great relaxing alternative!

Shelter is a great place for leisure lunches and happy hour drinks. Despite its name Shelter is actually an open-air restaurant located within Hysan Place, a gorgeous Hanging Garden of Babylon that also serves Italian food. I’ve been to the restaurant twice: once dinner in the dead of winter and the food went cold very quickly despite multiple heat lamps placed around our table, the second time was lunch during a sunny spring day and the atmosphere was perfect. You can tell that this restaurant tries very hard to work towards a premium/luxury positioning(well reflected from the price). While I appreciated the effort I’m sad to note that the service and the food quality just isn’t there. Bottomline: gorgeous restaurant, great happy hour venue
