Continued my venture in the dark side today. Kwun Tong is famous for the unique cafes and specialty eateries inside the old industrial buildings. It is actually hard to find these places without a guide. Not many of these restaurants put signs on the streets and there is very few indications to tell people that there is food up there inside these buildings which 40″ long trucks come in and out. Lucky that I have my cousin as my guide today and she brough me here. A very cute and cosy place indeed, and a cute Taiwanese (or a HK girl with Taiwanese accent) greeted us. Besides the sweet welcoming, I was instantly impressed by the 80s childhood/​primary school décor. They do the styling of the café quite well that it is not over-​done nor fall on the cheapie side, in fact I fit well to the primary school desk and chair, and a drawer for my handbag — comfy! It is self served here. We both ordered the Taiwanese minced rice + marinated tofu and meat (beef, chicken wings) set, which came with a cold starter dish and a drink — everything on a tray which looks cute. Tasted good and authentic too. It is so great that there is such place for lunch to get away from the busy work and rushy environment. Hope to explore more around Kwun Tong these two week while I am working onsite here :)

That’s my first meal when I came back to Hong Kong yesterday. My friend took me down there. They do make great Taiwanese food. I love there minced pork rice bento（魯肉飯便當). And the greatest thing is their food portion is as big as the US size. It just liked the one I ate in Reno, NV last week. It can fill my stomach completely. (which is not possible in most of the Hong Kong restaurant) Definitely I will come back later on. Unfortunately they don’t have a English menu, so you cannot order things there if you don’t know Chinese language.
