Get to the Chase: Pros: 1) Played EDM music and it was bumping by 1:00 am 2) Right near the whole strip of other better bars and clubs in Lan Kwai Fong Cons: 1) Played EDM music, but only the top 40 poppy stuff 2) Empty from 10:30 pm — 12:00 am 3) Nobody dances 4) Stopped the music, dancing and pushed people aside to create a narrow«runway» in the middle of the night so that some random girls could walk up and down in bikinis… what the hell? This is a club not Project Runway

It’s funny to think that every time I have a «blurry night» occur, nice out of ten times, it occurred at Levels. This place is located in a building with two other clubs but for some reason, it’s just more fun than the others, like Play at least for me. When I assess anything, I usually break it down to the location, the crowd, the level of service for what it functions for, in this case bartenders/drinks. While a restaurant’s most important quality would be the food, for me, the club scene pretty much is all about the crowd and ambiance. Because alcohol is alcohol, you’ll get the same bottle of Dom Perignon anywhere you go right? So obviously depending on the company you go with,(which is a huge factor when going out on the town at night,) next is the atmosphere of the place in which you and your friends are in. It can determine a fun or bad night out. In this case, Levels is a bit of a chaotic place for me. I do prefer it against Play or Magnum(a disaster.) But hey, it’s a club what do you expect. In terms of clubbing, Levels has great music, young active crowd(better crowd than other clubs in Hong Kong), I guess it doesn’t get better than that? Personally I prefer a half lounge/club type of place where its not all beats and bass. Perhaps I’m getting old, who knows. One things for sure, always get a table.
