You know that one bar with the limestone-​esque arches and medieval-​ish feel at LKF? Yup, that’s Insomnia.
Insomnia is known for their ridiculously long happy hours and the fact that it’s open all day. From 8am to 9pm, you can expect to enjoy discounted booze at Insomnia — that’s a thirteen-​hour long happy hour, if you do the math! At Insomnia, it’s never too early to begin your drinking. If you and a friend happen to be craving an early afternoon drink, Insomnia would be the place to go to enjoy their happy hour deals!
I have been here a couple of times just for drinks. I know they have a pretty extensive food menu and they probably do lunch sets (I know breakfast sets are available, for all you early risers — or late sleepers!), but aside from bar snacks, I’ve not had any food here before. The mozzarella sticks here are truly wonderful — golden fried and beautifully cheesy on the inside.
Drinks here are great and are pretty much standard LKF price. They’ve got a wide range of cocktails available, and for the summer they’re doing a special on mojitos where you can choose from the standard lime, peach, passion fruit and a few others. Perfect for the brutal summer heat! I find that their drinks are a little on the weaker side but are good nonetheless.
At night, a live band comes in and there’s a little stage towards the inside of the bar where they play. The music is generally good, but if you’re here to catch up with a friend you haven’t seen in a while, you may get annoyed because depending on where you’re sitting it may be too loud for you to continue your conversation.
One nice touch about Insomnia t is that you get complimentary chips that they will refill when the bowl on your table is running empty. Sure, it’s just Calbee, but free food is always good food!
Overall, give Insomnia a try if you’re looking to get a drink at an obscure time of day — their insanely long happy hours will have you covered!
