When a restaurant survived in Hong Kong, there are reasons behind. There are so many restaurants trying to claim they served mama recipes which is fine. Yet most of people don’t know the true meaning. In my opinion, it shouldn’t limit to simple and fresh food but also indicate the traditional Italian hospitality to treat your customers from the bottom of the heart and also to cook each dish with love like your mum. Give you the best and big portion to please you. I am not an Italian but certainly my mum would treat me a little princess and please me. Grappa’s is my comfort zone. They are best in HK without pretentious yet and refuse to localize their product, service and culture. I’d like to recommend Grappa’s to everyone. Their food is just delicious at affordable price. Where can you find such a good quality of Italian restaurant in HK?

Been a customer of Grappa’s since they opened and their food has been consistent. We were in the area early around 6 and did not have a reservation. But the hostess said if we are fast, she can seat us. I particularly like their sausages in various forms. This time I fancied the osso bucco which is getting hard to find. He had the sausages. I forgot the osso gets a bit overladden with tomato, marrow was good. Sausages were fine, perhaps«home made». The Grappa’s salad is always excellent. This is a favorite of mine. You can usually sit solo at the bar any time. And through the years, their sausages have been outstanding.

Each time going to grappa’s restaurant it smells warm. Where ever I go I can remember that warming smell. It’s part of my own memory. I like their pizza, love their eggplants they cook and their mushrooms. The olive oil is beautiful and arugula are so good, bread with olive oil and vinegar is amazing. Pasta al dente.
