happy beer hour~!

I came here for my birthday as I really wanted German food and beers. When I arrived with reservation, they simply offer us to seat anywhere without a specific table assigned. I guess it is a good or bad operation, as it leave the option open to me, but yet made me feel less welcomed.
After I sat down, I was constantly being asked to order and was given only one menu on the table in the case that I was still waiting for others in my party. Have to say, their service was attentive but annoying. And somehow they have this beer girl there that knew nothing about beers. Just simply asked me to order but was not able to answer a single question.
I tried three beers on the menu, a German one. Then a British and an Australian. I guess they have a good coverage of beer variety, however, being a German pub, I was expecting more beer choice and more German beers.
The sausages I ordered was a bit disappointing and the pork knuckle does not taste too authentic but still taste well.
Overall, I probably would go somewhere else near Soho for some craft beer and custom handmade sausages instead.

What’s there not to like.

In the middle of LAN Kwai Fong, this infamous bar is my go-​to bar when I’m on a budget and want a big night out.
It’s along the main road so it’s super convenient. The entrance is narrow but the bar goes all the way back. Yet also have a few seats out front so you can do some ppl watching if desired.
What I like about this bar the most, is that they have a huge selection of schnapps! They are all served as shots and will get you tipsy in no time at all. They have so many flavours all categorized into flavours, ie, sweet, bitter etc.
They have this one I absolutely adore, it’s cinnamon apple schnapps. I can drink a whole glass of that. A few other favourites/​or interesting ones include green apple, lychee, lemon and chilli pepper.
The bar gets really busy towards the latter part of the evening when crowds get rowdier and are looking to just have a good time.

Last time I went there was during my birthday, I told my friend how much I craved for some German dishes and she told me she had one place in mind. Given that it is located in Lan Kwai Fong, which served as a good chill-​out/​hang-​out pre-​game spot for us.
The restaurant is pretty quint. If you prefer chatting over the tipsy drunken tourists, sit outside and you can enjoy the famous party district in Hong Kong; if not, choose those table inside which is easier for you to chat with your friends.
So that night we ordered some beer, fries and a platter of assorted sausages. To be honest, the price was a little bit high but given it was in LKF, we supposed it was reasonable. The German beer tasted rather authentic and they claimed that they are the ONLY Place on Hong Kong Island that sold Bit Burger Beer– which was imported from Bitburg; we just had to take their word for it.
Anyway, I loved the ambiance there and the service was pretty nice as well. Our waitress did not rush us into ordering drinks or food so I was pretty pleased. You know how much those waitresses or waiters love to force you to buy a drink the minute you walk in. Not here. (At least it did not happen to me).
I recommend this place for those who just want to have a taste of German food and do not know where to go before partying hard late at night in LKF. Try it. You will enjoy this.
