El lugar es hermoso. La comida estuvo deliciosa. Fuimos con un grupo de veinte y todos la pasamos bien. Cuando fuimos tenían música en vivo lo cual le dio un toque más especial.

This place is beautiful! The boat trip from the shore to the restaurant is a very peaceful one and it is a chance you get to enjoy nature. As soon as you arrive to the restaurant, the staff welcomes you and they are very friendly. The service is fast and efficient. The food is fresh and delicious. I recommend their house drink!

Yesterday, we visited some really cool caves on Route 10 and made reservations at a nearby restaurant situated on Lago Dos Bocas(Lake Two Mouths). The restaurant was Rancho Marina and we had to take a boat to get there because driving would have taken over an hour! The boat ride was only about 10 minutes, thankfully. Upon arrival, we were seated outside right next to the lake, which was awesome… for a few minutes. It was very sunny, so it was hot. Then it got cloudy and started to rain on us. So we requested a seat inside the restaurant and the staff quickly obliged us. We ordered some appetizers and some drinks. They took a while to be served, but we were in no hurry. Then we ordered dinner and that took forever to arrive… probably about an hour and twenty minutes! The restaurant was full and they only had a couple servers running. But that wasn’t the issue. I watched as only one table was served food at a time and 30 minutes apart. Again, the restaurant was full, so maybe another cook was needed to crank out the dishes. The appetizers were tasty. For dinner, I ordered the shrimp mofongo and my wife ordered the churrasco mofongo. The sauce and the shrimp were delicious, but the mofongo didn’t have much flavor in comparison to many others I’ve had. It was a small portion too. Most of the mofongo I’ve had has a good garlic flavor, but this didn’t. It was average, I would say. The service was very slow and the food was average. The ambiance and location were amazing, however. The staff was also very friendly. We had a good time, but I wouldn’t go back because it takes all day just to get to the place and get a meal. There were 8 of us, including 3 children and out bill came to about $ 250 with drinks and tip. Recommend if you’re got all day and the weather is good.

This place is great! Their grounds are spacey and breezy and the view is beautiful. You can eat/relax in any of their many areas. The food and cocktails(while not the best) are good. The whole experience is definitely worth the trip!

From the first time I communicated with Vivian to our arrival, you can tell there was a lot of care put into the visit. I had many questions as far as direction and what to do at the dock, and Vivian answered them all with patience and kindness. She even called the day of to make sure we knew how to get there okay from our tour at el Gran Batey. You follow her directions to the loading dock, park your car and ask for Raul to call for your ferry to the restaurant. What a way to dine! You go on a free ferry ride to the restaurant(about 10 min). When you arrive, Vivian was there to greet us and your shown to an outdoor seating table facing the lake. We order the fresh tamarind juice, mango juice, fried pork Rancho style $ 13.95, shrimp mofongo $ 16.95, and vanilla flan $ 3.50(homemade!). The prices are very modest compared to the quality of food. The Rancho style sauce was a blend of Asian and Puerto Rican flair, very tasty. We chose a side of shredded plantains, which were fried bird’s nest of crunchy plantain hashes. The mofongos was absolutely amazing! The shrimp was very tender and worked well with the sofrito sauce and mashed plantains. The portions are huge! The flan was also very good. It didn’t take long for the ferry to come pick us up from the restaurant. We were blown away by the custom experience. The view of the ferry ride was equally amazing. We will be back for sure!

*You must eat here. This place was great. I had the steak and also had some of the chicken something or other. Every dish looked great. The scenery is fabulous and serene. The seating is outdoor and is covered. You can take the boat to the restaurant for free, which is a nice addition to the experience. We only knew about the place because our friends are from Puerto Rico.

This place is a gem. Nestled in lake«Dos Bocas» in the town of Utuado, the best way to get to this restaurant is by boat. Reservations are highly recommended. You will want to spend a good amount of time here, so plan accordingly. This is not exactly a place where you stop for a quick bite. It’s a great place to chill and enjoy some delicious Puerto Rican meal and down a frosty beverage of your liking before, during and after you are done eating. The place has no walls, and has many trees surrounding it. With the lake right next to it, you are bound to relax and forget about the time. You can get local and imported beers for cheap at this place. The menu consist of the traditional Puerto Rican dishes: mofongo, tostones, sweet plantains, fish, beef and chicken. For appetizers we ordered their shrimp turnover and ham crorquettes, both of which were delicious. I had their mofongo stuffed with skirt strips rancho style, and I was pleased. Their rancho sauce is an asian –inspired specialty sauce that they use on some of their dishes, thus the sweet and savory flavor. The sweetness is not overly done. Their tembleque de mango is a great refreshing dessert option. The service was friendly and courteous. The staff was very acommodating and were in no way trying to rush us while we kept ordering drink, after drink, after drink, after drink. One thing left to try was the bacarones, a deep fried shrimp in a cod batter. I guess I will have to come back again! Oh well! :)

Any of the five lakeside restaurants off of Lago Dos Bocas are a treat just for the experience alone. However, I’ve been to Otoao in addition to Rancho Marina, and in my opinion, Rancho is the better of the two. Unlike Otoao, Rancho is much closer to the lake, adding to the ambiance of the restaurant. The day was hot and humid yesterday, but there was a wonderful breeze that floated through the outdoor restaurant. Let’s start with presentation — the mofongo rellono(con churrasco) was served in it’s typical cup form and had the added touch of a slice of fried plantain inserted into the dish. As far as the mofongo was concerned, it wasn’t the best I’d ever had(a little too dry for my taste), but it was still plenty decent. The churrasco was cooked in the restaurant’s specialty sauce, which was explained to us as a mix of all of their herbs plus honey and wine. They described it as a sweet and salty sauce, but I felt like it was more sweet than salty. That flavor didn’t match very well with the mofongo, but I corrected that pretty quickly by dolloping my plate with mayoketchup(I have no qualms about using condiments to fix my meals). Moving back in time for a bit, for appetizers, we had queso with guayaba sauce. The cheese was lightly fried to perfection and topped with basil herbs. Combined with the guava sauce, the dish was incredible and the perfect way open up our appetite. Now as for the drinks here, the mojitos were hands down the best I’ve ever had. They must have added a little bit of coke in them because we kept ordering them one after another. In addition to the regular mojito that we all know and love, we also had the pleasure of trying the restaurant’s delicious tamarind mojito, guava and coconut mojito, and passion fruit mojito. They had a list of other mixtures too, but we resisted the urge because we wanted to be sober for the drive back. After we had our fill of food, we spent about half an hour relaxing on the deck under the shade of the trees. With the lake out in front of us and the birds and flowers behind us, it was the perfect way to end our afternoon. When the boat finally arrived to pick us up, we were reluctant to leave.
