I would definitely make this an agenda item for any San Juan adventure. The painting is OF Borges though, not BY him!

I really enjoyed my visit. The employees at the museum were super nice! I would just be observing pieces and they would walk up to me and tell me the story behind the art, it was great! The collection is small so come with an open mind and be ready to learn about PR!

It was the last attraction we visited in our pr trip. Inexpensive(6.42 $ for adults including tax, half price for students). The art pieces are nice, perhaps because I personally love the exhibition style, stuffs are nice and welcoming. However, not much to see… During our visit, the 5 floor building has only 2 floors open for exhibition with limited pieces… Some works are amazing. Good place to go if have completed the attractions on your list, or in bad weather, or just need to skip the heat:)

Where to begin… The location, the architecture, the fees(no MoMA prices here), the art! From paintings of the 17th century to modern large scale sculptures and photography, there is not one thing you will not enjoy on your visit to this citadel of great art! And as i stated elsewhere, save some appetite to rejoice with the gastronomic offerings of the Laurel Kitchen Art/Bar. ¡Buen provecho!

Very modern décor. Small local collections. Helpful floor. I loved the exhibit on the 4th floor showing a glimpse in the life of a barber shop.

It’s silly to compare this Museum to the MET in NYC, the Louvre, or any others. The collection is much smaller but has local and historical relevance. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re into old or modern artwork. The outdoor koi pond and garden is also a nice touch. If you’re looking to kill an hour or two, this is worth your while. At the least, it’s a nice respite from the heat and humidity of San Juan. The Museum is well-maintained, and admissions is $ 6($ 3 if you’re a student).

Within walking distance from the Doubletree. Super suprised and what a great museum we found. Like visiting a small museum in NYC. It is very cool inside with a/c and beautiful marble interiors. Cute little gift shop. The permanent collection was being remodeled until end of June 12, but we were able to see three exhibits which took about 3 hours to view. Campeche exhibit interesting historical painter from San Juan very educational exhibit. Smaller PR contemporary artist exhibit. And nice Spanish collection of modern design. Certainly a great indoors activity.

Here’s my review to the museum and not talk about any of the paintings at all. My sister got married here and what a fantastic wedding! The ceremony took place outside in their patio and the receptions was inside the museums main hall. With the perfect decorations from a hired decorator and perfect arrangement from the wedding planner, the museum definitely gave it that high-rich class feeling that a princess was getting married. The fact that everything was done at the museum was not only a great idea, but convenient in many ways. Since they have a restaurant, the food came from there and OMG!!! Try the Pork filled with Amarillitos and mashed potatoes. GENIUSCHEF! …Back to the review. The staff/servants are 100% happy and are there for you. The entrance from the patio is simply beautiful, the patio is amazing, especially the tree to the far right, and the hall is tall and glamours. 2 helpful things. 1) Valet parking out back, the black street on the left or in-front after getting back in the car is NOT a street. It’s a pond.(I did see a car drive into it). and 2. Have that Pork Filled Amarrillitos plate. OMG!!! I loved everything about this museum, but I can’t talk about the arts… oops! Parking is fair, and location is close for locals and tourist.

Loved this place, as a Smithsonian employee I was jealous of their building and grounds, better than anything we have. They have Koi, I even have a picture of them in my profile. The art was well above average and the place in general was just such a treat and blew away my expectations. Kind of the weird middle ground between Old San Juan and the hotel zone but worth a visit. Save time for the beautifully manicured grounds out back.

This Museum is filled with tons of art! The art is mostly modern, religious, and other civil rights movement art. It is amazing because they have sculptures, paintings, photography, etc. everything you can think of. There is like 5 floors of art. One floor is cool for children. They have activities and different«art» activities. The museum also has a beautiful outside area where it is nice to just sit. They have student rates as well. The only complaint would be the souvenir store. They could have a larger more diverse one. Other than that it is amazing to see Puerto Rican art!
