If I could put 0 stars I would!!! Waited at the door for 10 min and no one came, it seemed like they were understaffed. Waitress came and stated that they cannot accommodate our party as they were busy and shorthanded! I asked about wait time and was told that they did not have one as they are busy the rest of the night ! Plenty of tables were empty and it just seemed that the waitress and the mgr did not want the business. Caution caution stay away.

If you are a tourist to Puerto Rico from cities like New Jersey, New York, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Austin, San Diego etc. where you get authentic Indian food, food at this restaurant is no match and I would advice not to go here. Again, this is not authentic Indian food. The 2 stars are for the Ambiance and the Service.

This is one of the WORST Indian restaurants I have ever visited. There are several reasons for this: 1. Service was very very slow! It took the waiter about 15 minutes to come to our table to get our order and about ANHOUR to get our food. This place is not equipped to handle heavy crowds. The waiter who served our table was extremely nonchalant about the delay. 2. The portions of food served were extremely small! This is made worse by the fact that all the entrees were more expensive then normal. 3. After this nightmarish experience with the food we decided to go ahead and try their hookah bar. The waiters were again very very nonchalant. There was no one to flip the coals on our hookahs. In the end, we had to do that ourselves. Overall, if you want to go here on a busy weekend, I WOULDNOT recommend this place.

I have to admit I have no experience with Indian food, but if this is a latin-indian fusion, it works for us! we live close by and go there frequently. Nice portions(as expected for a restaurant that is not Chili’s!), good wines, the flavor is excellent and the bread is exquisite. Even what we ordered for our kids was excellent. The waiter is fabulous every time, very attentive and answers and explains everything. Surely PR is not the most ideal place to find the best indian food, but this place delivers on having a good ambiance, flavors, drinks and service. Although a bit pricey(which is the norm is most SJ upscale type restaurants), definitely recommend it!

over all good food and ambience. We ordered Paneer curry n Veg Biryani. Paneer curry was not authentic but it was good enough to satiate our hunger but Veg biryani was a different story altogether. Of course I didn’t have high expectations to begin with, but it was not eatable, tasted like it was put together in haste with a few veggies, spices and rice. also, raitha was not part of biryani, instead was a side order of $ 3(which got us 2spoons of yogurt!). conclusion: I would go again, but will stay away from biryani. once again ambience was really good and striking.

Not impressed. Chicken tandoori is kinda ok the mashed malanga is ok. Very expensive. Don’t think I’ll be back. Most of the food is not good.

Amazing atmosphere !! Amazing food! Lamb most be ordered, flavor and spices are just right. Had a vodka drink that you know is made fresh, not your regular mixed drinks. I will be back there when I travel back to Puerto Rico.

Mumbai is super hyped; if I could give a negative stars, I will give 3 negatives; food was very mediocre and horrible — they make one curry paste and add it to all dishes which tastes the same because of the same base –which is very ok to start with; They are not truly Indian just picked up a few menus and just dabbling with it; Their service is very poor with waiter forgetting things and needed a 3 times reminder on every item we asked; Menu is pricey with very small servings; when the bill came, they added a 15% gratuity which was a shock(we were just 4 and mandatory tip for such bad food and horrible service is s serious No No); the worst just got even more worst when they demanded only Cash and did not accept credit cards; Ambience is good with two nice murals but some may find it offensive to have Lord Vishnu without his traditional ‘Nammam or Tilak on his forehead’ and that too in a hookah lounge amidst all the smoke. Overall, a terrible experience!!’

If you’re looking for authentic indian food, this is not the place for you. Having said that, Puertorico has limited options for indian food! The quantities are small and prices are on the higher side. Taste of vegetable curries were okay but seemed to have a similar base(which shouldn’t be the case). Rotis. Papadums had more oil than ideal. Décor is good. Service below par

Mumbai is just the name but these guys have no clue what the food from Mumbai means !! Service is lousy and lousy is an understatement !! Folks who work here have no idea about indian food !! The décor is nice and it has a pretty outdoor hookah place !! But please don’t call it Mumbai or serve indian food !! Stick to a hookah or Mediterranean food or wherever you are from

I want to give them negative star. This place is very hard to find. After we searched like an hour we finally found the place. But it was closed. We reached at 7.30 pm where as on Unilocal it shows till 11pm. Do not go the cheaters waste of time. Finally ate in French restaurant next door delicious food :-)

I wasn’t expecting much given it’s an Indian restaurant in PR, but they surprised me with how bad the food really is.

Its a little indian jewel that is a part of the san juan food scene! A quaint little restaurant. whoever furnished it picked every detail very carefully… the lord ganesha painting was stunning on the wall… none of the pictures I took did justice to the huge personality it added to the place… dimly lit… this little room felt so inviting and serene that a raised voice would break its atmosphere… food was great… it was cooked how it is supposed to be cooked… unapologetic, trying to retain India, in its spice mix… ea chef has his own signature on the dish so would want people to savor its spiciness… Pls do repeat your order for total clarity so that your dish does not get missed out… missed out on the rack of lamb as the waitress did not register carefully… she was nice though… the paneer in the matar paneer was freshly made at restaurant hence melt in your mouth. the Vishnu painting was gorgeous too the little hookah place in the backyard was beautifully done… wish I had gone a second time before I left san juan… definitely going back I read a review someone saying tha“t not really indian food«…very north indian food… pls do go!

The food was delicious, but unfortunately, we got some food by mistake, the waiter told us it was what we ordered. After we dug in they told us it was not, but it was ok because it wasn’t going to be charged to us, since it was their mistake. When the bill came… guess what! We got charged for the food that the waiter told is twice WEWOULDNOTBECHARGED.

My husband and I, both vegans, were in town for three days and were excited to stumble across Mumbai because we love Indian food, no matter where we are. Overall, this was a good place and I’d return if I lived in San Juan. The food was good with some dishes excelling(onion bhajia was a perfectly crisp nest of thin onion slices topped with cilantro and chat masala seasoning, the papaya chutney was unique to the area and sweet) and with other dishes being just average(samosa filling was tasteless but the right smoothness, chana masala was heavy on garam masala). Vegans, be careful, as their vegetarian entrees are finished with ghee but they can easily change that if you ask. The price was high for small servings, and that probably was the biggest disappointment. As others have noted, the service is slow. But isn’t that true of everywhere in San Juan?
