The food is average, my boyfriend and I won’t come back. The staff was extremely friendly and kind! Small location and high traffic

If you come here come hungry! Potions are huge and very filling. My brother and I had crossed paths with a sign mentioning their famous mofongos and boy it didnt dissapoint. Aleandro was out server and he was very friendly and helpful. He reccomended some specials but we had to do the mangu. I got pork and my brother got chiken and we ordered a side of yuca, sweet plaintains and rice and beans. Yes there seemed to be a wait as I am certain the kitchen was backed up. Numerous people walked in intantly so its normal for that to happen. Aleandro and the rest of the staff were very attentive. The Medallas(here bottled) were nicely chilled too. Wish I could come back soon but it was certainly a pleasure to come here. Definitly come thru if youre in the area, its inside a little mall like space. And again come very hungry :)

Was here for like 30 before they even offer a drink and over an hour to get food. Very poor customer service. Won’t come here again. And after I got my food it was so salty that it wasn’t edible. Worst waiter I have been served by didn’t even apologize

Best mofongo I ever had. I had the shrimp and loved it. The shrimp were very fresh. The sauce was seasoned to perfection. My mother had the chicken mofongo which was a little dry. My brother had the pork which was dry with a different sauce. I am glad u made the perfect choice. The service was quick.

This place is Authentic! The food, the service, the ambience, was all top notch! they’ve been around 25 years and after eating there you’ll want to come back for more. We came here the first time and got take out to eat at the beach, then came back in the morning for a fabulous Puerto Rican breakfast. When you find something good you stick with it & this restaurant is the hidden gem when it comes to authentic cuisine in Puerto Rico! The prices are on point and not reflective of the tourist area highway robbery other restaurants in the area have.

A great option if you don’t want to spend $ 2738393934 on a hotel breakfast. And it’s GOOD food! $ 2.99 for eggs, toast and home fries. Delicious food and great service without breaking your wallet!

We decided to venture out during our stay in PR and landed upon this little gem, their food is delicious but the service can be a tad slow which I was expecting to encounter. The fact we returned 5 different times tells that the food is great which overpowers the customer service. To start, their prices are amazing, especially being that they are on the touristy part of Isla Verde, they are by far the cheapest place we went to. The first time I ordered the shrimp mofongo, this was an okay dish, the shrimp were scarce and the mofongo was a bit dry. I’m glad I didn’t let this experience deter me for coming back, it just has been an off night. The shrimp omelet is AMAZING, they give you plenty of large shrimp and the sauce and cheddar cheese is a good combination with the home fries! I opted for the puertorriqueño coffee, it’s much stronger than American coffee, it is divine! I will say they get you in and out, some of the waiters are slower than others, you just have to be a little patience but it’s worth it. Although, it is very busy they do a wonderful job at getting people in and out, it seems to be a lot busier on the weekends than the weekdays so be prepared. If you are looking for great food and want to stay on a budget then come here! The have breakfast for just $ 2.99, in my opinion waiting a little longer is completely worth it for quality!

Small place, busy with tourist mostly. Sorry it was a miss for me. I ordered arroz mastposteao & bistec criollo(en salsa). Had 3 bites and boxed the rest to give away.

Decent prices and menu selection for breakfast. Gave it a try as recommended by several people during our stay. Our Waitress was not happy nor friendly. Other servers seemed friendly and up beat checking on other patrons and refilling drinks freely. My coffee was strong and warm then cold by time food came. No refills on coffee which seems odd for a breakfast spot. Water had junk floating in bottom of cup. Two Plates of 1 pancake and eggs each took well over 30 minutes. Im not one for leaving a meal but had to leave the rubbery pancake(that i became frustrated in my attempt to cut) and shell filled scrambled eggs on the plate. Two stars bc we went right in and sat down with no wait and the tour guide fella made jokes to make us laugh. Otherwise a complete let down and waste of time.

Service is uninspiring, and deliberately slow. Waited over 20 minutes for(2) glasses of water(which we never received). No attention from any of the wait staff and we sat right in front of the server station. Needless to say, we walked out.

Pro: Server was nice Con: extremely dirty place, had a really bad smell on the table, slow service even compared to PR standard, used sliced Kraft cheese for omelette.

My fiancé and I came here for lunch by recommendation from our hotel. The wait staff were extremely friendly and gave us solid recommendations on their specialty dish, Mofongo. The food and prices were incredible. Under $ 15 for Red Snapper Mofongo… amazing! Thanks to this restaurant we started out vacation on an amazing note. This place is a must visit spot when coming to Isla Verde. We also came back the next morning for brunch. The Passion Fruit mimosas were to die for and the breakfast prices were incredible. $ 2.99 for incredible breakfast special. Will deff be coming back here when I visit.

The menu is traditional Puerto Rican food and a good buy given the prices at the surrounding hotels. Service is definitely slow as it is in many PR restaurants. The people are nice but there is a feeling of mass ADD that pervades. Meaning, everyone seems busy but no one pays much attention to the guests as they scurry from task to task. I think it’s part of the island culture. So don’t feel offended or get aggravated. It is what it is. We’ve stayed in Isla Verde many times and visit Mi Casita often. Best time is early breakfast before the place gets packed. Say hello to the lady who is alway there waitressing. Her name is Zyda. Not sure if that’s how she spells her name but it is the way she pronounces it. Tip: Be patient, smile don’t take the slow service personally and you will do fine. In fact, amuse and entertain yourself watching the frustrated patrons who haven’t read this review. Tip: don’t expect hot, really hot coffee or plentiful refills. The standard coffee served is Café Leche which is coffee with warm milk. And it def will be warm and then cold by the time your meal comes. Best to order Black coffee with cream on the side. It seems as though each cup is made individually. Also, be aware that the coffee in PR is very strong(hence the warm milk) so the black coffee is similar to espresso. You will have to ask for a 2nd cup and that will cost you. That said, chill and relax. The people of Puerto Rico are genuinely nice people and very excepting of those who make the sincere effort to enjoy the culture. We always look forward to going back. NOTE: I give 4 stars only because I feel there is room for improvement on the coffe service and overall attention to the customers.

The place has good food. But the service is not that great. We had breakfast & lunch there a few times during our stay in PR. But the last day we went for breakfast. The bald headed guy with a french accent(who claimed to be the manager) charged us for 4 coffees, while all the other time they would just re-fill the same cups with no problem. This guy went & got us 2 new cups & than charged us 4 coffees!!! When I showed him all the receipts from the previous days to show him they had just charged us once he said they made a mistake, because they shouldn’t re-fill anyone’s cup… while he’s telling us this, the table next to us is getting their coffee cups re-filled. I pointed that out to him & he just shrugged his shoulders… I payed & walked out. Next time I visit, I might go back but definately requesting another waiter. PS… Also, watch out for the«tour guide» that hangs out in the back table every morning… He seems to be there to hook people on but don’t seem to trust worthy… I guess I’m just an extra careful individual… but he offered to drive some folks to Old San Juan one day & some girls to the beach the next day… just keep an eye out.

Agree with other reviewer. This place is dirty. The floors were dirty and the bathroom sink hardware looks like it hasn’t been replaced in 30 years. You can do better. My monfongo was dry and mediocre. My fiancé got sick from his chicken mofongo. Stay away.

This is def an amazing stop! This is the first place I’ve eaten down here in San Juan but it’s made a great inpression. The food is very authentic and tastefull. And Barry filling. The portions were large and i had some to take home. The flickers were great and i ate the pork special! The service was good but i wouldn’t say outstanding. They wee attentive and helped out a lot but very dull personality and not very interesting. The environment is decent. It’s nice and easy to talk to your group. It has a very authentic feel to it and is nice environment. The music was not what I’d think it was just a normal pop and hip hop station so that through my likeness slightly. I do recommend this place tho!

I’m not understanding these bad reviews. Food is consistently delicious here. Breaded beefsteak and mofongo for the win! Authentic puerto rican food served here. Friendly staff and reasonable wait times. It’s not a brand new restaurant but they make an effort to keep it clean. Amazing sangria. Must stop here if you are in Isla Verde.

Dirty dirty dirty Because they are not keeping the place clean it kind of gross you out from eating there It’s very close to the resort which could have been convenient since it’s so cheap and the resort food is so expensive. The food was just blah because it was so dirty I didn’t want to eat. The table was dirty and I had to ask them 4 times to clean it but its wasn’t done(it’s not a language barrier I told them in Spanish and English) Food was on the floor and chair, I get that they feed a lot of people due to heavy foot traffic but still.

The place was packed which was a great sign! However, the wait took forever! I am not sure if this is a Puerto Rican thing or what but waiting 30 miniutes after you’ve been given bread(just regular italian buttered garlic bread) and beverage is too much for this New Yorker. The conch appetizer was refreshing, a bit tough but I anticipate that was because of the lime juice cooking it(similar to ceviche). The conch was too chewy and appeared to be made the morning of and had overcooked in the acidic juices. Imagine a house salad in an Italian vinagerette with tough conch. Piña colada was sweet like i like and the medalla beer was ok according to my guy. We had grilled chulettas, arroz con frijoles rojo y mofongo langostino. The chulettas were cooked well but too salty. The rice and beans were really creamy. The mofongo was flavorful, very large portion and the lobster was fresh. I have noticed that Caribbean seafood has it’s own ocean flavor. Overall, a solid 3 no more. We ordered flan from the bodega/super mercado/bar nextdoor. I’d skip this place too if you want the real deal. Just«ok».

YOOOOOLVOEDTHISSPOT. this felt like it was some home cooking goodness i loved it. me and my wife came here for breakfast and dinner on consecutive days. i had to come to puerto rico and get me some mofongo. whooo i got the chicken mofongo and wife seafood. the portion was HUGE and left me full! sooo good. we had a Pina Colada as well and was a bit icey and had to go through chunks at time it was good. the breakfast was also good as well. they have a2.99 breakfast special but you look at the menu you would want to get something else on the menu! everything is reasonably priced as well so check it out! the staff was very nice there. i can see it getting very busy and the guests might take over the servers but it was cool when we were there. the food is very authentic and delicious!
