The portions are great, the prices are even better. The food is delicious and I would definitely come back here again. The servers are polite and relaxed, the décor is pretty as well. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like. I would definitely bring my friends here if we’re ever in the area again!

Nothing special Cheap seafood, the menu is not big. Shrimps are good. Happy hours are good. On Sundays mimosas are 2 for 10 dollars, which is Great. Parking is a nightmare ! Just park on the street and walk ! Waitress and bartenders are very nice.

The place stunk, not clean the worst service from the not friendly personnel. This place needs to close for cleaning. Do not recommend this to anyone there are better places in PR. To all the people vacationing in PR please do not go here I don’t want this place to be the way you view Puerto Rico

Great food for great prices! I was not a fan of the crab turnover, but the meat & cheese turnover was delicious. The shrimp tacos & fish tacos were awesome.

Horrible service. Mofongo sucked. extremely dry. Our server Pepe was horrible. don’t sit with him. He ignored or table, forgot our sides, brought our bottle of wine after we received our meals, then gave us attitude when we asked him if our sides were on the way. Spent $ 160, and he asked if we were tipping him cash or credit. really? That’s so rude! coming from someone who works in the service industry, good service is EXTREMELY important, actually it’s essential. this place lacked a lot, whole fried fish was good and coconut flan as well. Will not be returning.

So delicious that it is a local favorite in Puerto Rico! The fish tacos are phenomenoal and easy on the wallet. The red snapper(or pargo in spanish) is my favorite dish. The red snapper is deep fried to a crisp, without the oily residue, and lightly seasoned. If you are visiting puerto rico for a couple days, definite check this place out!

Was recommended here by a local tour guide. Location is really neat on a busy walking street in Old San Juan. We sat outside in a nice ambience with live music right behind my ear. The service was good/average but we did wait for refills of water(much needed after a long day of walking). I took a recommendation for the squid ink rice and calamari… it was tasty but the dark black visual threw me off(no fault of the restaurant)! Girlfriends battered shrimp was average at best. I’m guessing we ordered the wrong stuff, but neither of us was super impressed. Mofongo was good. We’d give it another shot and order something different.

This was my favorite place. It was affordable($ 14 for 2 shrimp/2taco combo), the service was fast and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. It was a win-win for your wallet and palate! Had I tried this place sooner, I would have ate here everyday. Please try the fish tacos! Believe the hype; order the fish tacos. You will not be sorry.

This casual restaurant appears to be a bar from outside but its definitely not. Its a delicious seafood establishment!!! The service is good. I was quickly seated. The server immediately visited the table and took my order. I ordered filete de mero(grouper) with yucafongo. oh myyyy god — it was ahhh-mazzingg! The fish was well seasoned in garlic sauce(i even noticed garlic bits — my kind of sauce). The yucafongo(its mofongo but instead of platano, its yuca) was juicy with a green paste-type thing on top… i think it was a purée of cilantro. The order comes with a small green salad, so no need to order another on the side. Oh, and the portions were perfect — honestly, i couldn’t finish it because it was very filling. The atmosphere is very casual. Water is served in plastic cups. Theres a mix of tourists and neighborhood folk which makes this gem all that worth visiting. Great food. Decent prices. Good service. Happy dining!

We stopped in just for a quick snack and decided on the fish tacos. They were delicious! The only thing… it wasn’t quick. However, it seemed really busy so I’ll give them that. Friendly servers and the portions were fair.

This place was so good I almost passed out. It’s on a little neighborhood street in San Juan. The atmosphere is so fun and bright and the hostesses are friendly. If you’re into top notch empanadas, paella, fish and seafood, you will excel here. There are also options for the non-seafood lover. You can also get bottles of wine for $ 20 on certain nights. No regrets!

The fish tacos are very good! Unfortunately, they’re not quite good enough to make up for the slow service or for being repeatedly approached by people selling candy bars for their school(I’m really not sure why the business allowed that).

This was a recommendation from our AirB&B host. From the crowd, I’m getting that it’s extremely popular! I was in the mood for a patio, so I was a little disappointed from the beginning, but a girl that was waiting for her friends outside went out of her way to tell me how good the shrimp tacos are. Our AirB&B guy described the area as artsy and up and coming. I think he’s right, there’s a lot of potential here! I’m just not sure Cueva is on it’s way up. We were seated surprisingly quickly, but it took our server quite awhile to get to us. I totally understand that they are busy, and don’t expect to be the VIP table, but I get the impression part of the wait was to get someone that spoke better English. I don’t know about anyone else, but I feel like, as a guest in Puerto Rico, you can expect me to be proficient enough in Spanish to order food, but I digress. The Shrimp is indeed delicious! The menu could be written better, and if anyone from Cueva is interested I’d be more than happy to do it for you! and there are some aspects of service that could be smoother. All in all, I’d say it’s the ambiance rather than food or service that’s detracting.

This place looks like any run of the mill tourist destination restaurant, but I know people from the island who would recommend this place. The two times I’ve been here, I’ve always felt like I didn’t have enough table space to eat. To be fair, it’s enough room, I’ve just had to take off a few items from the table to fit everything I order. I know this is a seafood focused restaurant, so it may sound crazy to order an item that isn’t from the ocean, but I’m honestly in love with their«Can-Can» pork chops. I’m a huge fan of any fried pork and this place definitely takes the prize on that. My wife ordered the fish/shrimp tacos. She preferred the fish and commented on how pleased she was that they weren’t shy on their portioning of fish on the tacos.

A local restaurant in the area that everyone frequents. They have free wifi :). The night we came we ordered frozen Pina coladas and they came out watery like milk. We asked about it and he waitress said the ice melts quick anyhow that was super quick from the bar to the table. I ended up getting another drink. I ordered the sweet chili shrimp, & fried bread fruit. My friends ordered fried fish. This seafood was very fresh and tasted delicious. Service was decent. I will return when I’m back in town.

Great service and the food was really good. Our waiter Francisco was super helpful with suggestions and very attentive. He would stop by regularly to check on drinks and to ask if everything was ok. He actually elevated our experience here along with the great food. The fried Red Snapper was amazing! Three pounds of a whole fried fish packed with flavor! We had to take some back to the hotel because we couldn’t finish all that meat. This came with white rice and beans and a salad. We would order this again for sure! The seafood rice was also very delicious. The flavors from this dish were very pleasing to the pallet. The seafood was fresh and the rice was cooked perfectly. Another dish we would definitely order again. Fried pork chunks with salad and side of fries. I didn’t try the dish myself but my nephew and brother loved it. The pork was nice and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I had the shrimp in garlic sauce with salad and mofongo. The shrimp was a tad bit over cooked but the garlic sauce and mofongo was really good. I would order this again. Definitely try this place out. You will not be disappointed!

TOOLOUD!!!

We went to this restaurant based on recommendations from a local who took part in the Segway tour. The restaurant is right in Old San Juan and there is patio seating but we preferred the AC inside the restaurant. Once seated, we placed an order for drinks, wings, tacos(which i’ve heard good reviews about) and a pork and rice plate. The wait for the food took longer than an hour. It was unbelievable, every time we asked the server, he would advise«it will be out in a few minutes» meanwhile other people who came after us, ordered their food, ate and paid their bill. We had to take our food to go. The bill came and they added an automatic gratuity. Despite all the wait, the food was actually pretty good. I just have a bad taste in my mouth with the level of service.
