The food was good. Loved a chicken traditional dish they served and the pork chops were really good. Their house made hot sauce and mild salsa complimented everything we ordered. I gave three stars for the wait time. The wait staff was so slow. They took 20 mins to take our order and a full hour to bring our food. By the time we got to eat, we were starving. Anything at that time might have tasted good. So not sure if the food was really good.

My general rule is that I don’t eat at places where someone is outside telling me I should eat there. I don’t recall if I broke that rule the first time I was here in December 2014, but I know it was good enough for my wife and I to reminisce about the whole fried red snapper for the last year and a half. So when we decided to walk from Condado to Old San Juan(note: this walk is much longer and sweatier than one night think) this time, we went right here. They were accommodating of our stroller and kid. We got our fried snapper. We had some sangria. We went home fat and happy. Only note for those stateside: Puerto Rico is a Latin American culture. The service is leisurely and you will need to ask for your check, potentially flag down some wait staff, etc. I don’t think this is considered rude here like it would be back home. They don’t want to interrupt or bother. The waiters were super polite every time we did so.

First of all… there are so many good restaurants around this area, so many choices. However, we chose this one, because it was close to our hotel, had good ratings, and we really wanted to have some yummy authentic Puerto Rican food. We walked here after checking out Fort San Felipe del Morro… a short 16 min walk. We walked up to the restaurant and was instantly greeted by a friendly face, which was very comforting. I feel so bad, I forgot her name, but she has a pretty face with a shaved head. We were seated right away and pretty much had the whole restaurant to ourselves. It was an early dinner, so I assumed that’s why it was so dead at the time, which we did not mind at all. Alex was our server and he was very informative with the menu and anything else we’d asked him about the area. Awesome service! My husband ended up ordering the Trifongo and I had the Surf and Turf Mofongo, both with creole sauce. We also had the«Puerto Rico Ceviche» as an appetizer. Ohhh… my! Yum!!! Overall, everything was great!

Food and service were both excellent! $ 5 happy hour drinks had the whole table, well, quite happy. Pork chops, chicken mofongo, and tiramisu were all amazing. Try the coconut mojito or rum old fashion, they won’t disappoint. Tourist friendly /bilingual waitstaff. A nice upscale dining experience in San Juan.

We saved this place for our last night in OSJ after a week full of delicious food. Unfortunately, after our waitress dropped our drinks off, she disappeared. I went inside the empty restaurant over 10 minutes later to pay for them at the bar and she showed up in time to ignore me while the bartender made change. What a disappointment.

This restaurant had the best ceviche in Old San Juan. Went back again just to get the ceviche during the day later in my stay. I also had a the short rib beef Puerto Rican stew dish which was delicious. For dessert I had coconut flan which was also excellent. All around great experience. The waiters were also very helpful as they talked to us about cool bars to visit and places to see during our stay in Old San Juan.

Just happened to walk into this place looking for a good drink and i definitely found that and more. Amy, our bar tender, made fantastic drinks and was a wonderful host. We started off with the empanadas as a snack and finished off with the pollo mofongo. The food was great! The establishment is a bit pricey compared to other locations but we’ll worth it! Make sure to ask for any or at least get a drink from her. She won steer you wrong!

Our first restaurant visiting PR. Stephanie was our waitress. She’s super sweet, polite, helped us with sights to see and thats just the service. Food is amazing especially the Escabeche. Must visit in Old San Juan.

The Tostones are the best that I’ve had in OSJ so far. Excellent service, and great outdoor dining! On a side note, the background music was 80s and 90s hits played in Bossa Nova Jazz style. I loved it!

Funky little bar/restaurant. But in a good way. Bartender with just the right amount of attitude mixed with a sort of friendliness. Appetizers were quite good

Wow. Best meal here in OSJ so far and even more so the best crafted cocktails. My wife had their«tri-fongo» which was a mix of plantains, cassava and a «third» ingredient I forgot. Delicious. I had on of the Puerto Rican stews and the flavors were just fantastic. Can’t go wrong here amongst a sea of Mofongo-slinging tourist traps ;) The mojito was tremendous and I don’t even normally drink them(my wife ordered). I had a Barrilito Manhattan and the a Rum old fashioned. Both very well crafted!

2nd time here. Love this spot in old San Juan. Food is really fresh and the staff is super friendly. Although tucked in between all the touristy spots the food is authentic. Get the Churasco steak and the Mojito. Additionally on the way out get their homemade hot sauce. Although unpasteurized it travels well and love having that Puerto Rican flavor at home.

The fisherman’s stew was terrific. Thanks to our waiter for the recommendation. The atmosphere was bright and welcoming. We enjoyed all aspects of our meal. In a street filled with restaurants, this one’s worth a stop.

Enmeshed in a strip with plenty of other restaurant options, this place popped out because of Unilocal!Woot Unilocalers! This place didn’t disappoint and since we beat the rush, we got seated pretty much immediately. The hostess doesn’t pressure you to stay and eat at her restaurant, but she’s very friendly and informative. We sat outside to take advantage of the warm weather before(I) heading back to the frozen tundra of MN. It can get loud because it’s located on a busy street, but they have the seating area surrounded by some hedges which helps with privacy and not getting run over. Service was good, but things seem to just move a little slower. Service took longer, getting our food took longer, paying the bill took longer than we were willing to wait. But they have free arepas as something to munch on while waiting for your entrée. Dipped in their salsa oil sauce, the arepas were delicious fried, light patties of dough. Items ordered: GREAT dishes: — Pastel Puertorriquero(plantain pie): Delicious! It was similar to a tamale in consistency but more tender, the filling was a perfect ratio and it came with a little salad on the side that really helped round it out. Would definitely order again! — Goat stew: I was planning on ordering the short rib stew but they were out(they were also out of rabbit), the goat stew came highly recommended as a substitute, so we went with that. It was DELICIOUS! The meat was fall off the bone and so tender it was insane. The stew that it came in though was way too salty but the meat was perfect. Thank goodness for the potatoes and carrots that were sitting in the stew. — Pork chop: The pork chop was moist, delicious, and beautifully presented, huge slab of pork chop on the bone. Would definitely order this one again — the entire family loved this dish, perfectly seasoned and well cooked. OKAY dishes: — Bass fish filet: The fish was tender and flaky, good flavor, but it was fried and I think I’m just tired of fried foods. The rice it came with and the accompaniments were good in balancing it out but it just didn’t really strike me as anything special. Reasonable price though for fish! — Beef & Cheese samosa: It was very fully stuffed but was pretty greasy yet somehow still flaky. All in all the kids love this one. NEEDSIMPROVEMENT dishes: — Anything with chicken: We ordered a couple dishes with chicken in them and both(the stew and creole mofongo) were both dry. The chicken didn’t have enough flavor to them on their own to make up for the dryness and the rest of the dish suffered for it. Great place for some reliable eats that are on par price-wise with all the other restaurants in the area. They have some fantastic dishes but they also have some other ones that just miss the mark a bit.

TOURISTAVOILDTHISPLACE! They overcharge your bill, I’m not the only case Don’t get fool by the good rating We were there because of the high rating too I have to said the food is good But the way they charged ur bill is ridiculous!!! I never check my bill before and today we were playing the guessing game Just kidding about the one who get the right amount has to pay for the bill Remember the good we order were around $ 25 per person for four of us but the actual bill we got was $ 167 We were wondering how this amount ended up like this and realize they charge $ 7 on hot water and automatic 18% tips added on party of 4… No wonder it’s dinner time but only 2 tables in the restaurant Things happened for reasons!!! We came straight in off the street around 5.15pm, the restaurant was empty, but we had 3 kids among us so that was fine by us! Server was very friendly and excellent with kids. She brought us colouring books and crayons for the littlest among us, juice, and a special request of food for them too. The lemongrass and cucumber mojito tasted mostly of mint but it was tasty all the same. We tried the sampler to share for starters which went down incredibly well among our group and she delivered some pumpkin biscuity things that tasted great too. Hubby had the paella and he requested no mussels or clams, unless it was already made and they said that they make each portion to order. Friend and I had beef short rib stew, which was absolutely delicious! I’d live on it if I were a local. Friend #2 ordered the red snapper, which we, for some reason didn’t expect to come whole but she said it was yummy. A lovely little find ;)

This was one of most flavorful meals that I have had in a long time. No microwave oven here, all made from scratch. We started with the sampler appetizer and they were delicious but the sauces took it over the top outstanding. For main course we had the shrimp mofongo, the chicken mofongo and the pork chop. I cannot tell you which was my favorite. I also had the salad which was crisp and fresh with a delicious cilantro vinaigrette. We finished with the flan with caramel sauce WOW is all I can say. If in Puerto Rico this is a must for a truly Puerto Rican meal.

Very delicious food! I’ve been twice and never disappointed! I don’t drink and the bar tender made a non-alcoholic concoction that was out of this world! Right on the main tourist strip Inaru offers friendly service, excellent food(get the goat when they have it) and with the money you put out! Though I don’t consume alcohol I’m told the Lemon Grass & Cucumber Mojito(award winning mind you) is the drink to get!!! On a previous visit the bartender whipped up a non-alchoholic beverage for me which was out of this world. So if you don’t drink, just ask and see what can be made to fit your palate. Forget the regular tourist trap(points next door) and definitely«Go Here!»
