Good place to eat in hato rey area, specially before a concert in the choliseo. Great steak, delicious rissotto, lamb, bass fish and dessert. Also the waiters are very high speed.

My favorite Italian restaurant in Puerto Rico. Yes, it is very expensive, but the value is there. Homemade fresh pastas, incredibly delicious ahi tuna, the branzino is to die for, and when in the mood for meat, opt for the filet mignon. Franco Seccarelli is no longer at the helm, but his protégé, Carlos Diaz, is keeping the legacy going. Henry and Damian welcome guests with warmth and consummate professionalism and the wine list is well thought out and reasonably priced. I have patronized this restaurant and its team since its original location on Cristo St. in OSJ and will continue to come back because I can always count on consistently good food and impeccable service.

My daughter and her boyfriend treated my wife and myself to a vacation in Puerto Rico to meet her boyfriend’s family. Every year when they go to visit his family they always have dinner at Il Nuovo Perugino Enoteca and they took me there for my birthday dinner. WOW, who would have thought that one of the best Italian restaurants outside of Italy would be found in Puerto Rico. Everything we had was perfectly prepared. Their version of Pasta e fagioli was amazing, chick peas instead of white beans. We all shared a salad and a cold antipasto. I had their version of Veal Scaloppine it was very tasty. I can’t remember what we had for desert but it was all fantastic. A truly memorable birthday dinner, thanks Allison A.(see her review below) and Hiram.

Here we go again, another zero-star restaurant! My food was served lukewarm. I send it back and the waiter acted like I was being unreasonable. When it arrived again, it was warmer still; undoubtedly. It just wasn’t hot. I brought it to my server’s attention that it still wasn’t hot and he took the plate and came back with a menu. What I wanted was what I ordered, nice and hot. The waiter was suggesting I choose something else since the pasta was not up to my standards. I asked if the kitchen could prepare a plate of pasta and deliver it to my table while it was hot. He offered to put the same plate I received«back» in the microwave for more time. In one, careless statement, that server informed me just what this restaurant was about. Cold, bland food, bad service AND high prices? Good luck keeping the doors open. Caveat Emptor

Wow, I never wrote a review… I am terrible. This is the BEST Italian food I have ever eaten. Even better than the food I had when traveling in Italy! Who would ever think I’d find this in Puerto Rico! Their sommelier is incredible knowledgeable and their staff knows the menu inside and out. If they ever have Lettuce Soup, GETIT!!! Do not think, just order. By far one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. We come here each time we go to Puerto Rico, I can not wait for our return trip this May. We’ve always been blown away each time we come.

Hands down the best Italian restaurant in Puerto Rico. Home made pasta and a variety of tasty Italian dishes makes this place just awesome. Quite pricey, but definitely worth it. I had the squid tinted fettuccine, and I have to say it was extremely well made. This is the successor of the original Il Perugino, and located in the Hato Rey, although I liked the previous restaurant better as far as the ambiance and décor this is definitely a great place.

Congratulations to Franco on his reinvention of the beloved Il Perugino. He brought the best of his signature dishes from the quaint little space in Old San Juan to an amazing contemporary new space in San Juan’s financial district. Attention to detail, warm friendly service and delicate yet tasty dishes will leave you wanting to return again and again. Bravo!
