It has been closed already?! Lol we visited this island last year and this place was still open. Not much option here at night in terms of food/restaurants. We were so happy that this one was open lol the quality of food was… mehhhh. But how can you complain while there were no other choices.

Food is decent but the customer service was HORRIBLE!!! My hamburger was not cooked the way I order it so I sent it back… not a huge a deal but the waiter didn’t even apologize. It took 15 – 20 minutes to get my food back and they didn’t even make me a new hamburger, they scraped all the stuff of it and cooked it again. After we finished eating, we asked another waiter for our check, he said«OK» like he was going to get it since our waiter was on his break sitting in the corner eating and drinking coffee. We waited another 20 minutes! Finally, I see our waiter get up from his break, clock back in and then he brings us the check. He still did not apologize for the food or for having to wait so long to get the check. Just the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

The waiter was terrible and didn’t even bring us water. I guess the owner realized what was happening and came out and began serving us. He served us water hot bread and asked what we would lime to drink. The coffee was amazing and the food was delicious! Old School Puerto Rican meal! Reminded me of my grandmothers cooking. I will definitely eat here again.

Thought it would be a good idea to get a late night bite to eat here after arriving from my flight. Needless to say, not worth the time or price. I understand the idea of relaxing and kicking back, but the service was so excruciatingly slow that my normally dependable patience declined rapidly. Food wasn’t anything spectacular or memorable. I also enjoyed getting like six fries. That’s it? Really? I’m not one for gluttony, but come on. There really isn’t much else to say about the food, even for a foodie like myself. It was okay. The only reason this place is open is because of its location. Not worth your time. There are many other better restaurants, fancier, similar, or cheaper that are better than this one.

Last night we arrived for our first time in Puerto Rico, specifically San Juan. We were all very hungry and were looking for a place to eat. The Greenhouse was in a convenient place, fairly close to our hotel in walking distance. The ambiance was very pleasant and welcoming, but unfortunately there was no one to greet us when we first entered, but eventually someone seated us. The man waiting on us was very quiet and I was having trouble hearing him. He just seemed like he didn’t want to wait on us at first. The wait on the food was baffling and I was quite displeased, considering the restaurant was almost empty. My Chicken was cooked very well and seasoned exquisitely, but kind of dry. The vegetables were not to my liking proportion-wise. The menu said it had a vegetable assortment, but there were only two vegetables on my plate, not pleased. My party however mostly enjoyed their meal. The plantains served to us were quite bland, so I had to go through the burden of shaking salt on them, and one of my party member’s salad was mostly arugula covered in Parmesan cheese. Our empanadas were quite good, but too hot. It burnt my tongue, and after that I wasn’t able to fully enjoy my meal. The mojitos were an absolute delight. My peers thought they were the best they’ve ever had. So, they did very well on that. When we were ready for the bill, we made it clear we were. The waiter was apparently too busy talking and watching television, not making us his first priority. Other than the long waits and the burnt tongues, the Greenhouse was an adequate and acceptable meal, that can be at the same time mostly forgettable. Very poor service. I do not recommend going there at all.

We stopped by here late night for a bite to eat. This restaurant is great and the food was really good. We were also a fan of the service. Great food and open late… its a Win Win and we will be back if we ever return to Puerto Rico. Thank you.

OK, but not worth a special trip. As mentioned in other reviews, the service is slow, but that might be their way of encouraging you to «slow-down, relax and enjoy». Either way, it’s slow. Like the other restaurants on Ashford, they know they have a captive tourist crowd, so their prices are at least double what you’d pay at similar place off the strip. Suck it up, you’re in paradise and the food costs(a lot) more.

Stopped in for a late night meal. Horrible service, food nothing special. Got the burger special. Ordered it medium. The other three people I was with got the French onion soup and one got a burger. The burger came out first. It was like charcoal and came with about 12 fries! We thought the soup would be brought out soon after. The waiter disappears for maybe 10 minutes. We get his attention and claims he decided not to bring out the soup because he figured we wouldn’t want it that late in the meal. What? He doesn’t apologize or anything. French onion soup, $ 9 a bowl!

We stopped here because it was next to our hotel… Big mistake! Food was terrible and service was worse! Started with the croquets… Very bad. Pizza was overpriced and not fully cooked. Walk down the street a bit further is my only recommendation for this place. The bussers were more attentive than the waiter.

Good salad and fast service… $ 12 for a chicken caesar salad. A bit on the high side for me, but the salad was great.

My sisters and I visted this restaurant we had a waiter named Yanis. Pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu. However when the order was not served to our satisfaction we ordered a medium well and received a medium rare burger, we spoke with management and they both chose not to do anything please do not visit this restaurant, poor service bad management.

Subpar. Perhaps it was dining late, but subpar for midnight dining that claims to be traditional.

We decided to stop by Greenhouse because it was in walking distance from our hotel and it was getting really late. There are certain things you have to get use to when you’re American & visiting places that are of a different culture than yours. The major thing would be the language barrier — to be more specific, things that get lost in translation. In Spanish, I’m sure our greeter would’ve had a better question for us as we entered… better than his broken English request of «what do you want?» That took us ALL by surprise. If we were in the US, there would have been a problem! Ambiance — well, there wasn’t anything spectacular about Greenhouse at all. In fact we even had a few… visitors…bugs…roaches…that decided to join our dinner. Again, we’re not in America. It’s Puerto Rico and. Well. That’s the only excuse I have. On to the food — I had a chicken dish — pollo fricassee, or something to that effect. It was delicious! This was my first meal in Puerto Rico and everyone else opted for burgers and ended up eating off of my plate! The meat was seasoned well and tender, served with yellow rice & beans. Delicious! If you’re visiting Puerto Rico with a group, please be prepared to either pay cash or have to play«who ordered what… and how much was it» because they do not separate tickets. At all. Period. It’s a hassle, but, eh, by the end of the trip we had the process down pat! LOL!

Phenomenal food. This is one of those examples that reminds me you can’t always go by reviews. I had the roasted chicken which came with broccoli and fries — the fries were some of the best I’ve ever had, and I’m normally not a fry person. My boyfriend got the pork chops, and those were great as well. The atmosphere is really nice. It’s on a corner on Ashford Avenue and has a lovely outdoor garden. Had a great time!

Unlike some of the other posters experienced, the service was fine when we stopped by for lunch. The burger and fries was fine(nothing special) and the plantains were OK, but the rice and beans were really bland. Plain old rice and black beans that looked like they had been poured out of a can – no seasonings or anything. If you are hungry after a morning at the beach, it’s a fine place to stop by to grab a burger. Not a destination restaurant, though.

The food was very fresh and very tasty. The price was not bad, considering where it is located. The service was slow, but nothing more than you would expect on an island and besides, your probably going to PR for a vacation. So who cares. The servers where fast to bring out the bread, water, and ice cold beer. I’m am glad, I didn’t read the Unilocal reviews before I went to this place otherwise, I would not have gone. I would definitely eat there again.

We were trying to go to Ali Baba’s and walked for-freaking-ever to get there only to find they don’t open til 4pm. Too hungry to wait an additional 40 minutes, we stopped at Greenhouse. It seriously took them 13 minutes to come to our table once we were seated, so we changed our minds and just ordered drinks instead of food and decided to wait for Ali Baba’s to open. There were only 3 occupied tables in the whole place and our 2 drinks(beer for him, mixed drink for me) took another 10 minutes. We should have read the reviews first.

Had dinner here Saturday, Dec 8th. It was recommended by my barber back in Miami. I walked in, it was not busy so I was little discouraged but happy that I can be seated right away. I ordered a margarita and boy, they were strong. For main course, I asked my burger to be done medium but half of the patty was rare so I ended up only eating half. I was very happy with the service but wish the food was prepared correctly. I’ll give it another try next time I go to PR.

Yes boring is what this place is. It at least is clean. We did get seated pretty quickly but service is slow. And service is slow. Yes, I said it twice. I had the burger and fries which was very good. It was slightly undercooked, but just a bit. My wife had the chicken cordon-blu. We were both sure the chicken came into the restaurant in a frozen state. Definitely not made fresh. So, this is not the best place to go eat. And the service is slow. But this is the Caribbean, so get used to it.

It’s open late. I was stumbling around Santurce after watching the Cotto fight at the Radisson Ambassador and needed some nourishment. I didn’t expect to watch a fight on my first night in Puerto Rico but when in Rome… Evidently, the island shuts down when it comes to native son boxing and this match was of particular importance because Mayorga was talking so much isht about Cotto — in Puerto Rico. You know *no one* was having that. So, to the Radisson I went to watch the fight(it wasn’t worth the 2.5÷3 star review I would write of the top-floor lounge; dated furniture, lots of tvs but very loud, weak drinks… even the beer). After the fight(which was more exciting than I thought it would be), my good college friend took me on a quick night time tour of Condado, Santurce and Ocean Park. [Note to self: there are some fine-a$$ buildings in this part of town. Make a lot of money and buy something. This is the way life should be lived.] After we’d checked out the beach, various clubs and drool-worthy condos, we needed food. Nico suggested The Greenhouse. I couldn’t find it on Unilocal.I thought that might be a bad sign but there’s a lot in PR that hasn’t been Unilocaled. Well, it wasn’t a great sign. The Greenhouse was… boring. It reminded me of a Dennys(décor, service and food quality) with Chili’s prices. Nothing is going to offend your wallet, but you’ll likely give your bill a quick side-eye before paying. I ordered some rice & beans and a ginger ale. It’s a good thing I kept it simple, as it took a looooong time to even get that. Our waiter could have given a isht(two would be too much) whether he served us, whether we left or whether the mother ship came down and beamed us up. He didn’t care. I can deal with languid service(esp. in a tropical setting). I could give a f service? Well, it was late. He might have been working a 12-hour. He wasn’t surly but he certainly didn’t give a damn. This may have been a better experience had I been drunk.
