Alicea Caldas Photography

We wanted updated family photos, and what better spot than the eastern coast of Puerto rico? Luis met us on a Sunday morning at the El Conquistador resort. He was already familiar with the property and suggested three locations… the exact same that we had also thought about. So that was a good sign. Luis brought good equipment, and had a great handle on lighting, shadows, and colors to make our photos stand out. We loved his easy style… not overly posed or static, but not total free form either. But the most important part is the outcome. We just received our photos today (much faster than we had expected) and wow… they are terrific. He is a wonderful photographer. One word comes to mind when I think about Alicea Caldas photography is Quality.
We booked an engagement photo shoot 2 weeks before the date. My photo call was returned by Carmen within 2 hours and we picked the best available date. I asked Carmen if she could suggest a hair salon and professional make up sevices as well. I scheduled both right before the shoot and they were able to work with me with timing. My fiancé and I wanted a shoot on the beach near palm trees. Carmen and Luis couldn’t pick any better location than what they did.
On the day of the shoot Luis arrived on time, we chatted for a bit, he explained the process, since we were first timers and we began. Luis is a very genuine man and we were able to relax and take non staged photos.
For my make up and hair, I used Lizzie Ibara. She is perfect. She responded immediately and worked magic on me. I am beyond satisfied with Alicea Photography and will use them again for our wedding next year in Culebra.

My wife and I worked with photographer Nicole and she was absolutely phenomenal. Once we received the pictures we were very pleased with the quality of them. Luis communicated to us throughout the process to keep us updated.

Luis is an excellent photgrapher and very professional. We were on vacation and he suggested some beautiful locations that worked great for our family shoot. He was very responsive via email and I would recommend him without hesitation.

If you need a photographer in San Juan, then this is the best you can get. Professional and friendly and talented. My fiancé was proposing to me and hired Alicea Caldas photography to capture the moment. I did not even see the photographer (Luis) in the background taking pictures. He captured the surprise proposal and followed up with an engagement shoot in Old San Juan. PS Because I did not know about the photographer and the engagement, I caused us to be late to the appointment. Luis said nothing about the lateness and was so flexible.

My Fiancé and I were in Puerto Rico on vacation and we thought it would be a good idea to do our engagement photos on the beach. I choose Alicea because of the great reviews he received.
I write this review with a qualification 1) Luis was not the photographer who shot me.
The photos came out beautifully! I would highly recommend them. The only slight issue was the photographer failed to notice that my bra and thong were blatantly visible in many of the best photos. But. Despite this, we got plenty of gorgeous photos.

We were in Puerto Rico on vacation and were looking to hire a photographer to take family pictures, the hotel recommended one but once I check their website I knew we wouldn’t be a good fit. So a searched photographers in the area and Alicea Caldas Photography came up. I looked through their gallery and fell in love with their work. They had captured beautiful moments and that was exactly what I wanted. So when I contacted Luis, he called me back promptly and he was very professional and personable. He scheduled me with one of his photographer, Nichole. She was an amazing photographer. She is kind and patient with my two boys, and was able to capture all the right moments with ease. She didn’t make us feel like we were on a time schedule and the time flies by easily. We took pictures at our hotel, then took the ferry to Isle Palominos, shot some more pictures there, she also suggested we take pictures at the marina which I am so glad we did because they came out perfect. Every single one of our photos was incredible and there were over 500 of them!
Looking at the photos on the website proves that the photographers at Alicea Caldas Photography are amazing at what they do. I promise, if you go with Alicea Caldas Photography, you won’t be disappointed!

My fiancée and I were in Puerto Rico in January 2014 to celebrate our engagment and wanted pictures taken to preserve the memories of the vacation and to have something to hang in the house, display on the desk at work, etc. I chose Luis out of a list of Google results, taking a chance, a leap of faith. Luis and his wife Carmen met us on the beach for pictures and were absolutely wonderful to work with. They were personable, caring, fun, and seemed to genuinely enjoy this work they do. Their authentic interest in us made the pictures better and the experience was wonderful. If we get married in PR, we will definitely call this couple for the wedding! The pricing is fair and the pictures are a great range of shots to choose from. Thanks for Luis & Carmen for a phenomenal photo shoot!

Luis was very helpful in the weeks leading up to the proposal. This was even a last minute request as I was unhappy with some other businesses I was reaching out too. Luis was very responsive and open to different ideas. They had a very reasonable rate as well. My now fiancé and I were so happy with how the pictures turned out. Not to mention the pictures were processed the same day. Carmen also took a video of the proposal.
