My Girlfriend and I was on a cruise and we were in San Juan. We were arguing, it was totally my fault, and the owner of Mr. Curtis came up to us and invited us in. We didn’t try any of the food but the drinks are excellent. We planned our next cruise to go back to San Juan just so we can try the food.

While wandering around in old San Juan, we stopped by here for a bite and a beer. Loved the mini mofongos and fish tacos. The owner: Alan is an entertaining and welcoming host. This place has a great vibe and all the patrons are happy.

Great chill environment — staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Only had a few drinks so can’t speak for the food but the drinks were delish!

We were walking to the fort and the owner came out and chatted with us. We came back after touring the fort and the food was great! The Jerk Chicken had the best jerk sauce that I have ever had and the coconut rice was amazing. The atmosphere is great and I will definitely go again the next time that I am in San Juan.

I remember the first time I walked by this restaurant I was looking for another one and this tall, thin Black guy came up to me and said«hey check out my restaurant.» Unfortunately, I had already made my mind up on where I was eating for the evening but I told him I would return before my vacation ended. I returned back the following day for lunch and was very happy I did. The staff were supercool, friendly and accommodating. I met the owner again who remembered me from the day before and thanked me for returning. I told him I kept my word even though I had no intention of eating Jamaican food in Puerto Rico and told him that. LOL I told him people don’t go to McDonalds and order friend chicken. Throughout my stay in PR I noticed a lot of the restaurants had staff outside marketing for people to come in and I don’t blame them with the amount of options you have in the surrounding area. I sat at the bar and had a cold glass of water. I had been walking in that hot sun for hours and was beat down. The staff wanted me to try some of their alcohol drinks but it was just too hot for me and I had more walking in that sun afterwards so I stuck to good old fashioned H20. I finally agreed to get the curry goat and was pleasantly surprised how good they tasted. I thought I was back home in Brooklyn at one of the Caribbean spots in Flatbush. The lunch was a bit pricey and the food portions were a lot smaller than I am used to with Caribbean food but what do you expect for the touristy area. I met some other young ladies at the bar who were also on vacay and they enjoyed their oxtails and specialty drinks made by the bartender. I definitely could’ve sat there for hours and just chilled with some drinks and the old school reggae hits playing but I had lots more to see in Old San Juan. I am very happy that I did return and would recommend you check this place out if you’re in the area.

Do NOT walk past this place without stopping in! I almost did when I presumptively thought it was limited to a café setting/menu selections. We ran into a wonderful staff member at the festival and he advised to stop in for Jamaican food and drinks & boy am I glad we did. We ordered Mojitos freshly prepared before us ! Plenty of mint and fresh ingredients– not that pre-made simple syrup stuff! The drinks were amazing, only surpassed by the relaxing Jamaican ambiance & the most friendly and engaging staff on the island! Next time we are in San Juan we will definitely come back for the Jamaican Jerk Chicken!!!

On our 2nd nite visiting P.R. we wanted to go to Old San Juan to hear some live Salsa and as we walked the Town were stopped by a woman standing outside this eatery inviting us in for drinks. She explained that it was ONLY Jamaican restaurant on the island(to our surprise) and that it was founded 15 years by a Jamaican Mama whose sons now own and run the joint. We didnt stay that evening but promised to come to back before our vacation was over — and boy, am I glad we did! The staff was super friendly, classic reggae joints played(not too loudly) in the background, the drinks were great, and the food was«hella tasty»(that means it was superb in the vernacular of my Oakland, CA home) — all around irie vibe! We had the catch of the day — a whole fried red snapper(as in «head on») w/tostones and coconut rice w/small salad. It was cooked perfectly with spicy red sauce with herbs, peppers, onions and black peppercorns, mmmmmmm! It was enough for 2 and $ 25(CASHONLY) — not too bad for a tourist-dependent restaurant on a strip of many places to eat. We’d def go back for another plate, or two! Make sure to hug up on Tony, one of the owners, who also happens to be a great musician and sometimes there is live reggae although not the nite we were there. Also sidebar: the bathroom was really clean(I have a public bathroom phobia so I make a note to «shout-out» establishments who are attentive to the facilities)! But on «the real,» ONELOVE Fam, support Black-owned businesses — and get Jah grub on!

Great Jamaican food with some proceeds going to charity. Welcomed us in an hour before the new year. Immediately felt like family. Family owned and knowledgable about the city. With great food and proceeds going to charity I’d rate this as a must visit restaurant in old San Juan

Awesome and friendly staff. This was our first dining experience in PR although it seems like more of a Jamaican menu. I ordered the oxtail, three of my friends had the jerk chicken, and my other friend ordered the shrimp. The waiter was really friendly and quickly took our drink orders. He messed up on one of the drinks, but instead of taking it back, he split it among the 5 of us and then went to make the correct drink for my girlfriend. Each of us were happy with our meals. The only thing I could complain about is the plaintain. The menu says that the meals are served with plaintain, so in my mind I’d expect a serving to be 3 – 5 pieces of sliced plaintain. This restaurant, however, provides your with one sliver of plaintain as your side. If palintain’s your thing, just beware. All in all our meals were really tasty, and the staff was friendly. This restaurant was a pleasure to visit.

It was all rainy outside but Blessed Café Host was still outside encouraging people to come inside dry off and have a drink all with a big smile. So we did that and ate a lil something as well. The drink(a house special cant remember the name) was delicious and well made. Bartender was also easy on the eyes… yes I said!!! We sat at the bar because we thought we was just gonna be in and out. NOTTTTTT… lol…I have found a great place is hard to leave!!! The atmosphere was wonderful and the music was on point just like the food!!! I ended up having a couple more drinks and got the Shrimp w/garlic sauce… I was well please with the meal. Great spot!!! – a must to check out. I will be back rain or shine:) My heart is sooo warm for the Jamaican restaurant in Old SJ!!!

Service was awfully slow, but the jerk chicken made up for it! The Pina Colado and Rum Punch drinks were great, mixed well and not too strong. Cash Only as well. Also do not get the garlic shrimp, you only get 5 pieces. Good thing my friend was throwing up outside, I took all his jerk chicken and it saved my dinner!

Met the owner my first night in Viejo San Juan. Ran into him again on the hunt for a «El Jibarito» sandwich. The chef custom made this dish for me with the help of the owner. Best meal I’ve had all week! Phenomenal environment. Happy hour, great prices, and outstanding food! Will definitely be back when I return!

Who knew there a Jamaican restaurant in Puerto Rico. Looking for places to eat we stopped in, although we didn’t eat here we had a few drinks and enjoyed great music. The music is what drew us to Blessed. The restaurant was cleaned and spacious, the staff was nice but the food prices were kind of high. $ 26.00 dollars for an entrée was a bit to much for me, but the drinks were reasonable. The staff was nice and talkative. I had the pleasure of tasting different Caribbean beers. There were great but nothing I would drink regularly. I enjoyed the experience.

The wife wanted to try some Jamaican food and we read that this place is really authentic. As it turns– it’s all true! We went on a Saturday night before going to Nuyorican Café for Salsa Dancing, as it is right around the corner. I ordered a mojito and it was very good– nice and strong! For dinner, I ordered the Jerk Chicken with coconut rice. And of course, it came with a plantain. It was the parts of the chicken that I don’t care for– The leg and the thigh. But the Caribbean jerk was amazing! The coconut rice was also very good. My wife got the Curry Chicken which came with carrots and a plantain. She also really liked her meal. There was regee music playing in the background and Bob Marley pictures and other Jamaican pictures and posters up all over the joint! On my way to the bathroom I spotted another dining area that looked really cozy. There was also a little area where there was some smoking paraphernalia for sale. Obviously they did not sell the stuff you need to go with said smoking paraphernalia. The owner and everyone else in there was SO friendly. They kept blessing people that were walking by, they blessed our food and they even blessed us when we left. I felt very blessed to have eaten there!(Cool bit) It was a great meal and a great adventure! VERY Authentic!

Order the goat curry for some good flavored and jerk chicken! It’s CASHONLY. Please have your cash ready before you use there ATM on site. Amazing food, good music and awesome drinks. Do not miss this place if you love Caribbean food. The staff is very courteous and try to accommodate your preferences really well. I am honestly not a fine dining person, so I will tell you without a doubt that this place is so much better than other fine dining options in the same street!

Blessed is a hidden treasure in Old San Juan. Angela the manager came over to us while we were waiting on our walking tour and invited us to check out Blessed after our tour. We were happy we did. The service was awesome, the drinks were great, and the food was to die for. The owner came out to greet us and he is a sweetheart. All four of the ladies in our group are foodie and are from places where folks go to eat(NYC and Chicago) so we know good eating. To top it all off it was well priced! If you find yourself in Old San Juan check out Blessed…
