Restaurant/bakery located on the other side of the highway on which the major hotels are located which is why I didn’t see much tourists. Haven’t tried the food but it’s a sit down restaurant. The selection of cakes and mini pastries was high and the cake I got was nicely done and didn’t feel like I was eating a stick of butter

Absolutely awful! Visually these cakes are appealing but taste like wet bread. I realy wish we would have just stopped at the spot next door, much better. According to the people who work here this place has been in business for a while so maybe wet bread taste is an acquired taste. I will never return here if we come back to Puerto Rico.

We are happy we have this place a try, the breakfast is the best we’ve had to date. It’s as if we were back home. All is fresh and homemade; the French-Toast seems to be the dish to order, I personally prefer the eggs

It has been 10 years since my last time in Puerto Rico, and I was really surprised to see Sweet Ann Cakes is still there and performing solid. This place is technically a full service restaurant, with lunch and dinner buffet style meals, but I cannot review them as I only went there(previously and in this trip) for their sweets. It happened to be my wife’s birthday and we wanted to order a cake. Since my wife likes more deserts than she likes food, and given the variety and diversity of sweet pastries and treats in this place, it took us about 1 hour to decide what kind of cake to pick. Especially when all the cakes had their own particular flavor to impress you. To do the selection we just ordered 4 small pastries which are made similar to their cake counterpart. Imagine, we got 4 generous pieces, 2 bottles of water and a double espresso cortado(4 shot espresso macchiato in the mainland) for me. We started tasting the pastries and we ended them all. That good they are. Since my wife wanted to explore some more flavors we ordered another different pastry which we munched in less than 5 minutes. I do remember coming most afternoons to this place, back there in 2003⁄2004 after a long day of work and having a cortado with a pastry or a slice of cake and I do remember how we enjoyed that with my coworkers. I have to be honest, 10 years later and this place is still the best sweets place in the island, at least for me(and my family backs me up). If you happen to be around there, don’t hesitate, go, order whatever you see in the shelves and enjoy, you won’t be disappointed, indeed… Sweet treats everyone !

We came in for breakfast and in about 15 minutes of being seated and not even given the menu, we leaved. Few other tables were there unattended before we got there and they also leaved behind us.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience! I called Thursday morning to make 10:30am reservations for this Sunday(today!). They told me three times that we had to be there at 10:15 or they’d let our table go. We got there at 9:50am. At that time they had already given our table to a party who arrived with unexpected guests. They rattled up tables and managed to seat us at high tables(very uncomfortable given that we had a senior citizen with us… she said«it’s not that high and it’s all we have»), and they asked someone who was taking up one of them to move to the bar area(this customer left very mad and I understand her). After all of that drama just arriving, it took 25 minutes to get our coffee and juices. We orderd and NEVERGOTOURMEAL(6 plates of eggs and toast)!!! We waited an HOURAND A HALF(while other tables got their food… after they arrived much after us). We talked to the manager and she didn’t say anything, just«i’ll check»… Without even apologizing!!! The waitress was SORUDE… She said«you can’t expect all tables to be served at the same time»… When we had waited an hour and a half for food. At the end, we asked for our receipt and the manager said«you don’t have to pay»! We left without food, without an apology and very disappointed. Absolutely never going back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. — and I must add that the entire 2 and a half hours we were there… 4 other tables stood up and left for the same reason. Bad, bad, BAD !!!

Food: — Fruit cake: White cake topped with kiwi, strawberries, and mandarin oranges decorated with frosting and nuts. The lady that helped us said this was one of their most popular cakes and I found it to be mediocre. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. 3.5÷5 Service: The lady was nice and patient as we browsed the the different cakes. 4⁄5 Final thoughts: I would definitely come back and try other cakes. They even have food here.

Went here for lunch on the weekend and had churassco, pork roast, and salmon. The salad and vegetables were just okay but the meats or main part of the entrée were good. The thousand layer cake was a little dry this time, drier than usual that is.

This review is for the desserts. I havn’t had the food yet. Pistachio cake was delicious! The chocolate was decadent and rich. Its like a cute disney land cottage inside the bakery. I love the cute outfits they wear. I’ll be back next time im in San Juan.

They have a lot of items and the portions are very large. Their Churrasco was particularly good.

This is really two restaurants in one. The«real» food was great. I had a simple burger and fries but my friends enjoyed the less«fast food» fare and universally enjoyed it. I would come here any time just for their regular offerings. The other part of Sweet Ann Cakes was, well, the sweets. My wife went bananas over the variety. I had a chocolate cake and thought it was excellent.
