I feel pretty confident giving this a 3 – 3.5 star review. Setting was gorgeous! Conch salad was fresh and delicious. Mahi mahi would have been great if it wasn’t over cooked. So bummed about that. If I went back I’d order the conch for my meal-it was that amazing. Ask the waitress what’s fresh-not sure everything is.

One of the best mofongos on the island! Beautiful priceless scenery with amazing food and drinks. The service is fast and friendly. They have so many choices too. You are bond to enjoy whatever you eat

This is a great local restaurant with a large selection of comida tipica. Seaside setting and casual atmosphere. As of November they are closed for remodeling and I did not see any announcement of a reopening date, which seems kind of ill-timed. It’s the busy season right now and this could have waited until the season ended in May, but I’m not the owner. Worth a visit when they reopen..

This place is hidden off 115 going towards Rincon. Let me start by saying this place has an absolutely gorgeous view, however, that’s all. The Pina Coladas were two different colors [mine was red and my husband’s was white] and tasted like smoothies. The menu stated they had extensive wines, however, there were two in the white category and not known by me, an admitted wino/a. Our food came and had absolutely no taste whatsoever. The«criolla», which is what Puerto Ricans are known for, had no cilantro, recao, ajo — nothing. Neither of our fish dishes had any flavor. The waiter came back to check on how we were progressing and I told him I was done. He asked if I wanted anything else and I politely said no. If the food had no taste, why would I order something else? Finally, if you want gorgeous views and tasteless food, this is the place to go. Needless to say, they need to invest in a good chef as they will never keep the clientele if they remain serving tasteless food.

This place STOLE my credit card info and made several charges to hotels. The food is fine, but there are plenty of other great restaurants in the area with trustworthy staff– no need to risk it.

The staff here is super nice! I live in the neighborhood and come here almost every week to watch football games. The bartenders just hand me the remote and let me sit quietly and watch games. I have been a few times with people visiting. The Mofongo and Shrimp empanadas were favorites. The best part though is the staff! Like I said I live right down the beach, the are fabulous neighbors!

Beautiful view, where the locals hang. Cheap drinks and delicious bar food. Don’t order a salad… stick to what they are good at! Come here for a beautiful sunset and to get away from all the tourist spots.

My hubby and I stopped in here on a Wednesday night to have a drink and check out the karaōke… what fun. I have never seen such passionate karaōke singers in my life. The drinks were cheap and strong, food looked good(we didn’t eat anything) and the entertainment was amazing. You can’t beat the location either — right on the beach. If you are in Aguada, this place is a gem — definitely stop by.

What can I say that my daughter has not already said. We had a great view. Not so great service and a whopper of a bill. The food was great if you only had starters hit the dinner choices and the food goes down hill and the price goes up. The other problem I do not like the waiter who was absent most of out time there standing overt shoulder while I was signing the credit card bill. Really we could not get drinks without asking more than once and there was no water refills but suddenly he was right there. We will not return.

I found this restaurant on Unilocal and wanted to check it out even though we are pretty close to downtown Rincon and this was a 15 minute drive. We wanted to see the beautiful sunset. Everything seemed good but if you are a tourist they definitely treat you differently. Most of the food was good and enjoyable. The empanadillas were delicious. The problem was the main courses were not very good. I love lobster and ordered the lobster Parmesan. It was very salty and over cooked. The lobster tail did not have a price and we were billed $ 45 for it. I would hate to see how much the whole lobster cost! The view was great, the company good, the service was mediocre(our waiter who did not have time to stand around and talk sure had time to hover while we signed the credit card receipt) and the prices were astounding. I do not recommend this restaurant. I would recommend Shipwreck on the Rincon Marina area. The service there was great and the food amazing!

My sister found this place on Unilocal and we went to watch the sunset and try new things. I wanted empanadillas, she wanted mofongo, and we both got what we wanted. That said… We were definitely pegged as Anglo tourists the minute we got there and were treated accordingly. The service did not impress. It wasn’t horrid, but it wasn’t anything to get excited about(more water? Good luck). The piña coladas were good, my wine was fine, the salads would pass muster, and the empanadillas were great. Mofongo might not be our favorite thing so I can’t tell you how it was compared to other mofongos, but it didn’t cause shock or horror. I made the HUGE mistake of ordering the lobster tail – price listed as dependent on size – and my sister and mother ordered the lobster Parmesan and the red snapper stuffed with shrimp and lobster. All of these meals were basically mediocre. My lobster and the red snapper lobster were tough, the lobster Parmesan was salty, and the rice was overcooked. We finished(after feeding a decent portion of the meal to the stray cats that seem to live there) and got the bill. The lobster dishes my mother and sister ordered were both under $ 30. My lobster tail? $ 45. Forty-five dollars. For a lobster tail and rice and beans. What the who. I(and the other two) feel pretty confident that we got the Anglo tourist price and service. I cannot imagine circumstances under which a lobster tail could or should cost $ 45. It should have at least been gold plated. If the lobster hadn’t cost that much, I would not be giving one star. The empanadillas really were quite good and the stray cats were kinda adorable. But really, we were gouged, and I find that so totally unacceptable.

In our case the service was not that great. The waiter has a Meh! Attitude. We later saw another waiter who had a great attitude, so it was maybe ours. In other news, the view was great ant the Seafood Turnovers were average size but very good. The Mofongo seemed and tasted very good. The only dowside was the price. So Overall i give a 3.5 out of 5. If the service and the prices were better, this would be an awesome Shack.

My favorite night to go is Wednesday. They have a special on wings and shrimp, and they are usually very good. There is a nice view of the ocean, and as the name suggests, it is a great place to watch the sun set. Be sure to use bug repellent if you go at sunset, or you risk becoming a meal to some very hungry mosquitoes.

I was expecting more based on the reviews, the seafood was solid, probably one of the better meals I had on the island. Puerto Rico can be a little limiting, I was craving a salad after a week. BUT the view is 5 star fantastic, I have to say that if you are distracted by a lot of flies as I was that can detract from the dining experience you have to factor that in. Drinks were decent, nothing impressive. All in all a solid establishment if you are on that side of the island.

Food is very tasty and affordable. View is breath taking. Service is friendly and very accomodating. It is quite tricky to get there since the sign is shows more of Tropical Sunset than Guayabo. Definitely order the mofongo and the fish. The drinks are pretty good as well. I also recommend to make reservations because this place gets really packed. Beware of small kittens lurking around if you are allergic to cats like me.

This place is great for it’s fresh fish catch. The cook or owner even paraded the fresh catch around the tables to show us. The is traditional Puerto Rican cuisine done to appease tourists, but it’s quite good. I would recommend getting simpler dishes like fried whole fish, or filets in cilantro sauce. The Conch and Octopus cups were excellent. I didn’t try any of the other stuff. I give this place 3 stars because the drinks were not great, and there was heavy metal blasting on the speakers for the first ½ of our dinner. Also first area we sat in, part of the outdoor enclosed area, smelled of urine. Perhaps because the night before was .25 cent wing night, and people go nuts and probably start pissing all over the place. Advice: Stay away on Wednesdays for sure and probably Thursdays, too.

We found this great place on Unilocal during my last trip to the island. It is merely a shack with great outdoor seating covered with corregated tin roof. You can sit inside, but with such a view, why would you? Our first trip there was for lunch. I had a conche salad and my wife had a shrimp salad. The conche was a civiche atop a bed of letuce along with tomatoes and fried plantains. What a deal! It was absolutely superb and huge! My wife had margaritas and I had mojitos. They were excellent and reasonably priced. We were so impressed with lunch we came back for dinner twice. The dinners were just as wonderful not to mention the beautiful sunsets and watching the pelicans dive for their dinner in the ocean. This is absolutely the best place in the Rincon area for lunch or dinner! Well worth the short drive from Rincon.

After our«snack» at El Platanal, we keep driving around our little island, just looking at mountains, seeing how some things have changed since our last visit, etc. Time for dinner comes and we go close to the water now for some fish. Guayabo’s is right on the coast. If you seat outside, you get front seat to the beach. Imagine sunset, nice ocean breeze, and a menu full of delicious options. As if I hadn’t had enough Mofongo on this trip, of course I see it on the menu but here there’s a variation, they make a Mofongo out of Yuca instead of Plantain. Now I can say I truly love Mofongo, either way is delicious! We started with a sample appetizer plate which included sorullitos de maiz, tostones, chicharrones de pollo, fried cheese, also ordered aranitas(which are thin slices of green plantain fried together and look almost like a spider — add salt and ejoy!). As main course I had the Carrucho(Red Snapper) in a butter Garlic sauce. The Monfongos come with a large plantain chip as decoration(eat it too). The Mofongo relleno de Langosta(mofongo filled with Lobster), and the one with Camarons(shrimp) was really good too. Yes, I tried just about everything everyone else was having at the table :p Now, remember to save room for dessert! They have different kinds of flan(custard) plus more sweet items, but we decided to go with the Flanchoco. This is a mix between cheese flan with cake and guava paste. I had never had this before(which apparently is weird for a Puerto-Rican) now I’m looking for recipes to make it at home. Guayabo’s is not a fancy place but service is good and food even better.
