Restaurante Hao-Hua

Excellent Chinese right next to the Radisson Blu. Spent 2 weeks traveling in Spain, in Lisbon just for the night and noticed this restaurant while checking in to the Radisson Blu. Really enjoyed our meal. Excellent food, excellent Portuguese wine, and Ching was an outstanding waiter. Loved it.

From the moment I entered and to the time of my exit it was fast, quick, efficient service. I haven’t had the door opened for me in quite some time. The food was delicious, I loved the egg rolls so much, I ordered more to take out. I was so pleased that it was located adjacent to the Radisson Blu Lisbon where I was staying. The meals are over priced at this hotel for what you get. I ordered the crispy beef sweet and sour, it was a bit too sour for my taste, but it was just delicious and that is what sour is. The jasmine tea was really tasty. I highly recommend this place having visited China and and having eaten in numerous Chinese restaurants globally.

Having taken most of the day to relax & recover, I was ready to eat! Reminiscing about how my BFF & I found a Chinese restaurant in every city we went to when we backpacked across Europe, my husband I decided to find one in Lisbon.
Luckily we didn’t have to go far as there was one attached to our hotel. Hao-​Hua wasn’t too busy, but it had a lot of tables in a small space so even with a few big tables full of people they still seemed to have plenty of room.
We started with Chinese crepes — aka egg rolls. But these weren’t your standard American-​Chinese egg roll. They were a little wider & flatter. Truly more like a fried crêpe. The standard filling of veggies provided a nice starter to our meal. For my main dish I went with the lo mein & my husband ordered the frog’s legs. The lo mein was good, but nothing special. Hubby loved the frog’s legs. I tried a bite (and yes, ‘tastes like chicken’ is applicable here) but just couldn’t bring myself to eat a whole one. The fact that they actually still looked like frog’s legs was not helping very much.
So two meals down in Portugal & we have yet to try Portuguese cuisine. We’ll make it there eventually.

Nice for lunch

É mesmo 3 estrelas! É mais um restaurante chinês… Tem um ambiente agradável, e o atendimento é simpático (ou sou eu que tenho sorte)! A comida é razoável! Eu sou fã de massa de arroz com gambas e foi o que pedi na última vez que aqui estive… E estava boa, mas nada por ali além! Os preços são razoáveis, dentro da média para o tipo de restaurante! Razoável, portanto!

O restaurante Hua Hau é um dos pouco chineses onde gosto de ir. Destaca-​se no meio daqueles que surgiram, como cogumelos no outono, nos anos 90, apesar de ser da mesma linha de montagem. A decoração é idêntica a esses todos que surgiram mas aqui o dono conseguiu destacar-​se pela qualidade da comida. A comida demora a chegar à mesa, não é aquecida no microondas. Aconselho o pato com natas, o porco agridoce e o pato à Pequim.

É um restaurante muito espaçoso, com uma iluminação indirecta, muito suave mas, as mesas estão dispostas de uma forma que encavalita um pouco os clientes.
O ambiente é discreto e simples, a comida não é das melhores que já provei mas, mesmo assim, bastante aceitável. Comi uma galinha com amêndoas deliciosa mas, o pato à Pequim fica muito atrás de outros que já experimentei. Dividi um gelado frito com chocolate, simplesmente maravilhoso. Bem feito, crocante e com chocolate de boa qualidade. Nesta noite troquei o chá pela cerveja chinesa Tsingtao que veio com dois copos de pé alto, gelados. Muito bom este pormenor que penso, só os restaurantes chineses praticavam até há uns tempos atrás. O preço não foi mau e, com a gorjeta para o empregado que nos atendeu com imensa simpatia, podemos dizer que foi muito em conta. 明天~
