This was the first place we saw when we arrived in Lisbon. Most the staff do not speak English except one guy who was not kind. He told me to go sit down as I was standing at the counter chasing my beer I had asked for four times. The female wait staff are very friendly. I had the veal scallops. I really enjoyed it. My husband had a burger that came with pineapple but no bun. I guess burgers don’t come with buns in Portugal? The bread, pâté, cheese and butter they bring you is not free of charge. If you eat it you pay for it. I spent about € 30 for lunch. I compared this to a fantastic Brazilian steak house I went to for dinner and spent € 38 for all you can eat, I think this place is a bit on the pricey side.

Wanting to do as much sightseeing as possible, my husband and I had been terrible in eating during what we consider normal hours back at home. Famished and without much selections in the area, we found ourselves at this random side street, local diner. Understaffed, we waited a bit to be attended to and to place our order. My husband went steak and egg while I went with grilled shrimp. We were given bread, cheese, and various spreads which included tuna pâté, herb butter, and melted cheese as we waited for our main courses. They weren’t complimentary(many small local diners in Lisbon just lay out bread, cheese, and olives when you get seated — you pay for what was eaten) and they were nothing too special or outstanding but thank goodness for them! The bread with the pâté and herbal butter held us over — our orders took forever. Both my husband’s steak and my shrimp were so dry and way overcooked. My husband’s steak had a weird sour seasoning and his fries were lukewarm and soggy. My shrimp were served more of an Asian stir fry(quite oily) with the copious amount of blend, boiled cabbage and carrots. Meh food for the price(it was cheap compared to American standard and to the rest of our honeymoon cities). Cramped space, questionable sanitation, and zero service, this was definitely our worst meal in Lisbon.
