Café Buenos Aires na Fábrica

Great little Gastro Pub, retro Argentinian restaurant. We had a recommendation from a local to try this place on the Rua Do Duque. It is down the street from the corner restaurant, Café Buenos Aires, their sister restaurant.
I like this location much more, it is quieter less crowded and the ambiance is great. You expect Eva Peron to walk in any second.
We had a corner table in the back as there were five of us. The wait staff couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating.
We enjoyed the port sautéed mushrooms in a parmason crisp basket, the tempora green beans with garlic mayo, and the empanadas as starters. The martini’s were also great.
The strip loin ½ steak rare was outstanding. Flavorful and tender. Be aware, portions are very large so the whole steak is enough for two, the sea bass on a bed of potatoes and greens was cooked perfectly as was the prawns.
Desert was the chocolate cake, with ice cream, and the strawberries with meringue and cream.
We will definitely be back. Great experience!

I have going there for years.
I enjoy the food, which is the main reason one should go to a restaurant, but I must confess that this one feels specially cosy to me.
I don’t know if it is the ambience, the décor or the music, but I feel comfortable.
The food is good, although a little bit expensive, but the portions are quite big and one can normally share a dish.
I would change the starters just because I don’t find them appealing (price and options).
Drinks are a little bit expensive, but for example the lemonade is huge and does make for in size.
You can order wine by the glass which allows you to try several, should you wish.
Service is nice and multiple languages seem to be spoken.
I strongly recommend it.
The 5^th star would be for a better price.

A luz dá uma atmosfera intimista ao espaço, os cartazes espalhados pela parede são motivo de conversa e o espírito argentino (que não se fica só pela ementa) resulta numa energia vibrante. Para viver tudo isto, convém marcar mesa, sob pena de se ficar à porta a babar pelas saladas originais ou pelos bifes tipicamente argentinos.

Ora aqui está um número dois que está mesmo a postos para ocupar um primeiro lugar. Escrevo sobre o Café Buenos Aires na Fábrica, um espaço que abriu há um ano e tal, a poucos metros da «casa mãe» (o Café Buenos Aires), tendo, inclusive, ganho o sufixo «na Fábrica», visto que se situa na antiga fábrica da Confeitaria Nacional. Apesar da ligeira diferença na localização, a qualidade é a mesma. Como é óbvio, destaco a originalidade das saladas, nomeadamente, da de pétalas de flor comestíveis. Uma delícia que nunca tinha provado na vida! Neste Café tipicamente argentino, também já provei o ex-​libris da casa, ou seja, uns suculentos bifes, servidos em boas doses. Um conselho para quem estiver a fazer dieta: nem sequer se atreva a espreitar as sobremesas! Só de olhar, tenho a certeza de que não vai resistir ao bolo de chocolate com dulce de leche ou a um doce argentino que conjuga morangos, chantilly e suspiros… No final de uma refeição tão completa, só nos resta é soltar um longo suspiro de prazer… até ao próximo almoço!
