Came here bc of Unilocal reviews. Wasn’t a fan. Be aware that everything on table you have to pay for. Each bread and cheese plate… and each single butter and anchovy spread in the container will be charged. So right away tell the waiter to take away all the items you don’t want. The croquette that is placed on your table is pretty good and consider eating(€ 1.70) I Was craving grilled sardines with lemon… But they told me only available fresh during the summer and not in season! So weird bc at Baixa. Saw people eating it! Also tried to order the grilled octopus based in a Unilocal review… That too out of season. We ordered: PORTUGUESESTEAKWITHCHIPS: they cooked the meat well done in which Im not a fan of… And the chips were soggy SIDESALAD: this was good. Lettuce and tomatoes GRILLEDSEABASSWITHLEMON: this was good but so many fish bones. Never had sea bass with that many bones. Totally looked and tasted like trout. So I liked it. SEAFOODSTEWWITHRICE(don’t remember the names but it had shrimp and clams). Had it at O MOISES restaurant nearby. Theirs was so much better… Fresher. Had huge fish pieces. Really regret not going back. Wanted to try out new places… Wasn’t a fan bc I felt they were trying to nickel and dime you. Go to O MOISES bc they will treat you well and sooo kind.

This is my favorite restaurant in Lisbon. Try the octopus Lagareiro or the Bacalhau à Minhota and you’ll be amazed by the Portuguese cuisine flavors that you can fit in one dish only. The waiters are old school. I’m a costumer for many many years and they are the same waiters. They will be the same waiters when you return and I’m sure you will.

This came as a recommendation from the Sheraton Hotel Lisboa in town. I am always leery of hotel recommendation because I sometimes find that they usually send«tourists» to the same place. Just a short walk from the Sheraton we were pleasantly surprised by this location which seems to cater to locals in the area. If you are not familiar with«bread and cheese», this will be on your table and is not free. Neither is the cheese. We sent back one of the items because we didn’t want it. Don’t be afraid to send it all back. These are considered small plates. We wanted to start with a grilled sardine appetizer which they happily made. Lightly grilled sardines with lemon and olive oil, very tender flesh. We then shared a mixed salad with olive oil. My hubs had the Portuguese style steak which was absolutely delicious with the garlic wine sauce. Probably the best we had in the city. I could have eaten that for days. I opted for the half roasted chicken was also good. The«chips» or fries were also delicious. But what you MUST have is the Almond meringue dessert. It’s this ginormous fluffy thing in the cooler by the wine/barista guy. It is an amazing dessert topped with a crème anglaise. Really unique and delicious. We asked the waiter what it was and he was happy explain. They also take credit cards. Friendly staff. No issues.

I only wish I found this place sooner. The sirloin steak Portuguese style is out of this world. Granted, it probably won’t enthuse hard core steak connoisseurs but to those who appreciate a decent steak, it is absolutely delicious. It was cooked perfectly medium and is basked in a really tasty sauce and served with potato cuts. The interior reminds me of a typical Argentinian parilla, but Portuguese style. Great service! You’re looking at around € 15 — 20 per person eating here. Highly recommended.

We had the cabidela chicken with rice and the breaded fried pork(was like a schintzel), each plate was enough for 2 people. pretty delicious. Interested in trying out the other items too… We will be back before we end our holiday…

Upon arriving in Lisbon, we were referred to this restaurant. All four of us ordered the Beef«Portuguese Style» with potato chips. We all agree that it was the best steak we have ever had. Garlic, wine, and olive oil or butter. So simple and yet so delicious. When I return to Lisbon, I will come to have this steak. I could have done without the potatoes. Tip: While in Portugal, it is customary to be charged for the items you eat on the table. So kindly say no thanks to your server. The shrimp, bread, cheese and butter will be charged to your bill if you eat them. Unless you don’t mind the charge.

Had dinner here during a stopover in Lisbon; it was delish. I wanted to try something traditional Portuguese so on the recommendation of the waiter I went with bacalhau a braz and really liked it. The waiter was really good too. I’d definitely eat here again.

A comida é bem confecionada e saborosa.
