Had such a great experience here! The owner was so nice and catering. Loving going to a new place when they make you feel at home. I had the cucumber salad(bomb!!) and a grilled cheese(also bomb!!) the venue alone is really cute I love the upstairs area too!!! Definitely recommend if your in Warsaw, Poland!!!

If you’re American and you’re homesick — Blue Plate Chicken tastes like freedom and red, white and blue joy. I don’t know what’s going on with the poor reviews for this restaurant, but apparently no one is sensitive to proper American fare. The food here is fantastic. Blue Plate Chicken is a new American restaurant on Nowy Swiat. As an expat, I can say that only the franchise restaurants do well in terms of matching tastes I crave from home(McDonald’s, Burger King, TGIF). Brooklyn Burger — Jeff’s — 7th Street they try. They mean well. But there is always something lacking. Brooklyn has watery imitation hot sauce that misses the mark even though it’s the best pretend Buffalo sauce in Warsaw. Jeff’s is just Polish/American mishmash food(granted the ribs are good)…and 7th Street’s chicken gives me the same problems as KFC. Not so with Blue Plate Chicken. I ordered the macaroni and cheese, the toasted cheese sandwich(which is more like a pot roast sandwich), southern fried chicken breasts, and the American breakfast plate. Overall I tried most of the menu. Everything tasted exactly like what I would expect it to taste in a stateside restaurant. The Macaroni and Cheese — pasta shells in a white cheese sauce and baked. I love baked Mac and Cheese — savory, creamy, comforting — exactly the way it should be. Southern Fried Chicken — the breading is obviously homemade and it’s not as heavy and greasy as KFC or Brooklyn or 7th Street. I didn’t get a baby dino stomach massacre like I do at the other places. All white meat chicken, delicate breading — but the real winner is the BBQ sauce(the bottle was labeled«pikanty») — heavy on the Worcestershire sauce, and so delicious! They aren’t messing around. It tastes like an authentic southern BBQ sauce –not this sweet pseudo BBQ, not Heinz — something original, tangy, a bit spicy, specific and what you’d expect to find at a real BBQ place at home. Five Stars just for that one sauce. The American Breakfast Plate comes with pancakes and maple syrup, two fried eggs, bacon, and a sausage. Sorry Mr. Pancake but THIS is traditional American pancakes –no Nutella or sprinkles or any other sparkly porn food add-ons. It doesn’t need the bells and whistles — it stands by itself — independent. If you match the whole set with the filter-drip coffee — the American Diner experience is complete. But the real winner — the Grilled Cheese Sandwhich — which I’ll refer to as the Pot Roast Sandwich — WOW Foodgasm. Thin toasted bread, pot roast marinated in a red wine sauce, melted cheese, grilled onions — so savory so meaty and cheesy and yummy. It was better than the pulled pork at Meatlove, better than any burger — sublime. Absolutely. I’m in love! All I could think about after eating it was how much I wanted to eat it again and again. I just can’t understand why this place has bad reviews. The only complaint I would have is the limited inside seating. There could be more. But I was so satisfied with this place. So happy. Happy like driving my Ford on the Fourth of July with a Bald Eagle perched on my shoulder. That happy.
