Delicious all-Potato menu. Serving traditional regional potato’s, in all forms. Service is at the counter and you must bring dirty dishes to a table to be collected! So don’t forget ;-) Food was amazing. See my photos. No WiFi though.

Interior is pleasant, service good, inexpensive, but I found the food a bit bland. I had been to other polish milk bars before and had better food. But still worth coming too.

Came in based on a fsq review and glad I did! Super tasty right off the old square. Even though it’s a «potato bar» they offer plenty of meat options. We ordered the daily special of ribs, potato/beer soup, and«pyra — hungry», cabbage salad, and a tarty fruit pie. Ribs were definitely worth it. Staff was super helpful with ordering: even though you’re supposed to order from the counter, she came to our table to suggest dishes.

I was taken there by a friend and it was really good decision. They have 2 locations — Gdansk and Poznan and I visited the one in Poznan — first of all it is really amazing quality of food for its price — if you want to eat sth tasty and cheap it is really one of top choices for me so far for budget food, but you need to like potatoes! Pyra means potato in local language and it’s restaurant about simple potato-made meals. Food is freshly made but it is simple — e.g. potatoes with cottage(pyry z gzikiem), service nice and polite and moreover the atmosphere of the place is total — it is supposed to be kind of PRL, so the paintings, cutlery even their loyalty card reflect this style — big applause for that — not too much but enough to create atmosphere they wanted to create. My friend strongly recommends soups there — everyday there is a different soup of the day and they serve everything as take away as well. Names of meals sound funny in Polish and create atmosphere — it is not a place for dinner or fancy meal, but for something quick, with good taste and good price — it gets my reco. BTW they also have loyalty scheme for collecting stamps and it is also in PRL kind of style ;-).

Went there for a Saturday lunch, wanted to try out this place for a long time. Pyra means potato in Polish(or at least how Poznan people say it) and all the dishes here include some sort of potates, it’s a traditional food in Poznan area and maybe whole Poland in general. You have potato pancakes, casseroles, salads, etc… I tried the Burokowa and it was quite nice although it might have had too many potatoes for me :) Price is very cheap, you can get casserole dishes(potatoes on the bottom, chicken, sauce and melted mozzarella on top) for 10−12zl(300gr) and 14−16zl(500gr), I took the 500gr but didn’t finish it and I’m a big guy so the doses are good. Soup is also cheap for 5zl and they have different one every day as far as I know. Overall it’s a nice place for a different Saturday lunch.

-= ENGLISH =-(deutsch unten) The Pyra seems to be some sort of Potato Restaurant. There are a lot of dishes out of and with potatoes. Everyone agreed that the food was delicious. But they have a very poor selection for vegans. We asked for a small change of a dish, so it would’ve been vegan, but the clerk denied firmly. I assure you, it was a small change and not really work for the cook, and the restaurant wasn’t full at that time. For this reason i can’t give more than three stars. But omnivores and vegetarians shouldn’t hesitate to check it out. The Pyra is build open and flooded with daylight. You can sit outside in the back yard, but it’s more ugly than pretty.
