I liked the food very much, the attention when we got it was good too… the service is very very slow though. The price/quality was ok.

I’ve been here twice now, once on a weekday and once on a Saturday, and service was incredibly slow the second time. From ordering to receiving the food, we waited over 30 min for two mains and a salad. The waitress was sweet and apologetic, but did not seem to have the influence to move things along. Luckily we had some prawn crackers(kroepoek) to help tide us over. About the food, they have a delicious sweet and spicy vegetable soup with your choice of pork, chicken or beef. I chose the beef which is really tender. They ran out of pork the first time I was here, so we had rice rolls with chicken instead and our banh xeo(Vietnamese prawn and pork pancakes) were very sadly stuffed with a little prawn and heaps of bean sprout. The chicken salad is very refreshing, nice acidity and a bit spicy. The rice was nice and fluffy and dessert was okay too. There is this really authentic Vietnamese dish(prawn on sugar cane) that they sadly enough took off the menu. I didn’t go for phö since I had some earlier this week elsewhere, and a friend didn’t recommend the phö at this restaurant because the clove overpowers the soup. All in all, the beef soup might be my favorite dish here, followed by the chicken salad. The rest of the dishes didn’t really stand out to me, and combined with the long wait, I think I will skip this restaurant the next time.

I’ve been to Saigon Restaurant with friends on a quiet Sunday night. Service was ok, the food was delicious. The Phở is very well done, a HUGE portion, with a super tasty broth, the meat was tender and lean, one of the best I’ve ever had in a Phở and everything tasted super fresh. Beware of the chillies, they’re HOT. It would have been perfect if the meatballs were home made. Springrolls were very fresh and tasty too, slightly different from the one I used to eat in the U.S.A., these have a sort of sauce inside that makes them more savory and definitely more tasty. I tried also the roasted duck, and it was amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

I went to Saigon due to the great reviews on Unilocal and it turned out to be a bit disappointing. My boyfriend and I ordered Phở which had an authentic taste but the restaurant used a way too much MSG. I still don’t understand why most of asian restaurants I have been to so far think there is no way to prepare tasty food without using MSG. This is a reason for me to not return. Well, bot: Meatballs were not selfmade. Beef filets had a weird consistancy — Guess they putted the filets into baking powder as it is a common way to ‘soften’ meat. The service was poor and slow. We had to wait very long to order our drinks & food. The waitress was unfriendly and ignored us while we were trying to catch her attention.

My boyfriend and I love Saigon because of their vegetarian menu! Just tell them you’re a vegetarian and you receive your own menu, with options like veggi-chicken and veggi-pork on it. Definitely great quality food for reasonable prices!

Really nice Vietnamese food that was not so expensive. I tried the make your own rice paper wraps for the first time. While making the first one was a bit intimidating, I had no problems making the rest. I would highly suggest trying one of them. My friend got a rice dish which was good but was very difficult to eat chicken with bones in it when you only have chopsticks. Finally we had some nice Vietnamese coffee(with sweetened condensed milk) after the meal. It was my first time having that and really enjoyed it.
