De Beurs

Been here for an hour, pretty okay. Extreme downside was me deciding to get some cigarettes why the machine was powered off. So I asked the guy to turn it on, yet he refused to ‘because nobody will smoke during Ramadan’. I’m never going back here, it’s not Amish country here. Insane.

I’ll give this one 5 stars because they were kind enough to find us a table when i messed up our reservation… Made it for the next day… oups :) They also have really good food at about 20% cheaper than similar restaurants in Utrecht. The music is nice and the atmosphere also. Highly reccomended!

One of the many bars on the Neude. They are very friendly and fast in serving your drinks.
Outside seating with umbrellas and heaters so you can lounge outside (well covered) also in winter. Pity the whole square is occupied around Christmas from the ice skating tent but over all very pleasant.
it is a BAR… do not complain for food. if you get to eat here you get bar food. which is always «okish» :)

The food was OK but the service and attitude of the staff was very rude! Locals must love the place but if you are in town on business don’t bother. Credit cards are not welcome and the staff were rude when it was presented. They need to make this fact very well known. Next time I am in town I will pass.

I’ve been visiting the Beurs for a couple of years now. The food is good for a pub and the place is buzzing on student nights. I would recommend visiting as a student when you have visitors like family or friends.

Why would you be nice to your customers if you’re located on one of the most popular squares in The Netherlands? I mean, gee, do you know what an effort it is to be friendly and treat your customers right?
We ordered a burger, which came with fries and a salad. The salad never arrived, and when we asked the server she started to argue us — even after we showed her the menu, which was fairly clear. What is there not to get about ‘Comes with fries and a salad’?

Can not believe this place has five stars! I quite enjoy coming here for grilled cheese in the morning/​early afternoon and I also like to come here for a good night out with friends, but it’s the company that makes my night awesome. Definitely not this place. The toilets tend to be gross, really gross at the end of the night. But the pricing is decent, most of the servers are friendly and the bouncers are especially friendly to girls, even the ones under eighteen.
I do however love when they play nineties music the whole night but the dj needs to learn to play songs longer than half a minute.
They’re also trying to be less of a bar/​club and more of a bar/​restaurant which means that last time I was there my group and I got shoo’ed from the upstairs paart of the bar even though the entire place was pretty much full and it was only eleven pm. Apparently they do not want to make money any more or whatever?
What is great however, is that the coat check is nice and cheap, so you can dump your stuff here and then do whatever you want the rest of the night.

Good choice if you end up at Neude late at night or in the middle of the day. And in a small town like Utrecht this chance is high! I like it for a good location, especially tables outside you can sit & watch and you’ll never be bored. I also like it for a good food: tasty and fresh. Service is attentive, but can be slow. Therefore one star down.

I’ve been coming to de Beurs since I was in High School. My friend and I would come here at least every Monday & Thursday night and sometimes some other nights too. Yes, we were regulars at the age of 16!
I love this bar, even now that I’m grown up and living in the States I still come here every year I return to my hometown. It’s a very casual bar where they sometimes randomly will only play oldies and dutch music, but hey, you gotta love it! (You’ll either love it, or hate it).
Love the bartenders and the service!
I never go on a Saturday night, as it gets too packed for me. But any other night, yes, I’d love to go, drink beer, hang out and sing to dutch music :)

Recht großes Café im Zentrum von Utrecht.
Wir waren hier im Februar 2010 an einem Wochentag und es war brechend voll. Die Location scheint vor allen bei Studenten sehr angesagt zu sein.
Der Service war immer flott zu Stelle und hat souverän eine stetige Bierversorgung gewährleistet :-)
Für einen netten Partyabend sehr zu empfehlen!
