This was one of my absolute favorite things to do while visiting Rotterdam. I went early on a weekday and the crowd was easy enough to get around. There is a small cafeteria on the main level along with a smaller display area. The large display which basically is the entire city of Rotterdam and some of its outer areas is absolutely stunning. If you or your kids like trains, then this is totally for you. Be advised that the whole display goes from day to night without much warning so watch your step during this time as it gets pretty dark. Some of the information regarding what you are looking at is in English, but mostly in Dutch. The menu at the cafeteria is all in Dutch and I failed to ask if they had a menu in English. They close at 5p.m. most days so make sure you get there early.
