Not until another real Korean restaurant opens up nearby, Gamasot is probably your only option for a good authentic Korean food. With the small kitchen they have, it limits them with limited menu they can offer. In the other hand, it makes it easier for new customers to choose what they want. And It is much easier to have some quality control over the smaller selection of dishes hey serve. The service is friendly. The food is delicious. But make sure you make a reservation if you plan to dine here on the weekends. They have limited seats and they are often overbooked. Ps. If you consider going to Kimchi Bar, it’s better visit Gamasot first. This is the real deal. Kimchi Bar isn’t authentic.

Excellent place for good authentic Korean food. The place is a bit small though, so that there can sometimes be some waiting period. The wait is usually well worth it.

If you have not yet discovered Korean food, you should really put it on your list of things to try. I hear you ask: «Is it like Chinese food?» No… «Like Japanese then?» Wrong again. Korea has it very own distinctive palate which includes delicious little side dishes of seasoned and fermented veggies, meat, soups, stews and of course the famous kimchi. The place to go and have your tastebuds tickled is Gamasot on the corner of the Pannekoekstraat. A husband and wife team greet you happily and welcome you into their little piece of Korea. Traditional posters on the wall, booklets about the food culture on display, you can learn a lot while you eat! So yes, the food. Thank god, no over complicated menu, just 14 dishes to choose from and all freshly cooked by mr and mrs. They do take away which is fine for their pot-noodles but take a seat if you order their signature item the bibimbap; a tray of small dishes which you combine in a bowl like painting your own picture! Number 10 on the menu, the pancake, is my guilty pleasure and is great for sharing. Order the seafood version and have it with a small kimnchi portion on the side.
