We visited this restaurant during the parade on October 3. We were just happy it was open! October 3 is a day of celebration in Leiden and many places were closed.
There is a lot of seating in this restaurant and it was fairly empty when we arrived (everyone was watching the parade). So we got smiles from the staff, sat down and were quickly asked what we wanted to drink. But that’s about all that was quick. We waited a while to order and that’s where things went wrong. We arrive at 2:30, they only serve pizza until 5:00 pm. We were hoping for maybe a soup or small dish, and for the vegan with us, she wasn’t able to order anything… but we were given the regular menu.
If you’re going to have a super limited menu, you should make it separate to avoid confusion. And seriously… who is open for half a day and only serving one thing? I am hoping it was something weird because of the parade, but I didn’t get that feeling. So you might just want to check before going if you want lunch that isn’t pizza.
The vibe was cool, and I felt the prices were just slightly higher than I would expect.
