Only been here for lunch, very busy but good atmosphere. The soups make a nice lunch at a fair price.

Very good food. Good selection of beer. Close to Centraal station if you are making a stop. We had the satay, Thai chicken, soup, and some La Chouffee beers.

I think that Van Der Werff is one of the best places in Leiden to have lunch on daytime or drinks in the evening. It is also the most expensive place in Leiden, therefore the visitors are a bit elitist. Not a good place for budget minder groups. The terrace is nice because it’s on the main road to the station so you can observe the people who walk by, an activity no one admits they like to do but what I assume everyone enjoys. Although it is located on the ‘gaza strip’ it is not near to any of the kebab stores.
